UFC 300 Predictions

UFC 300 is a 13-fight PPV card that is loaded with exciting fights from top to bottom. Here are my UFC 300 predictions, with odds courtesy of BetOnline Sportsbook.

UFC 300 Prelim Betting Odds

The UFC 300 PPV kickoff with an exciting 8-fight prelim card. There are several former champions scheduled for prelims, including Deiveson Figueiredo, Holly Holm, Aljamain Sterling, and more. Here are my predictions for every UFC 300 prelim bout.

Favorite Underdog UFC 300 Prediction
Deiveson Figueiredo (-350) Cody Garbrandt (+285) Figueiredo (-350)
Bobby Green (-180) Jim Miller (+155) Miller (+155)
Jessica Andrade (-110) Marina Rodriguez (-110) Rodriguez (-110)
Jalin Turner (-210) Renato Moicano (+180) Turner (-210)
Diego Lopes (-146) Sodiq Yusuff (+126) Yusuff (+126)
Kayla Harrison (-465) Holly Holm (+365) Harrison (-465)
Aljamain Sterling (-130) Calvin Kattar (+110) Sterling (-130)
Aleksandar Rakic (-135) Jiri Prochazka (+115) Prochazka (+115)

Charles Oliveira (+210) vs. Arman Tsarukyan (-250)

The first fight of the main card pits former UFC Lightweight champion Charles Oliveira vs. Arman Tsarukyan. BetOnline has Oliveira listed as the +210 underdog for this fight.

Both fighters are 4-1 in their last five fights. Oliveira has a height and reach advantage that could come into play in this bout. He also has significantly more experience and has finished 31 opponents in his career, compared to just 14 for Tsarukyan.

Despite these advantages, I think Oliveira will come up short in this fight. Tsarukyan is not nearly the grappler that Oliveira is, but as long as he keeps the fight standing, he will have a chance. I believe Tsarukyan will win and put himself in line for a title shot at 155 pounds.

Prediction: Arman Tsarukyan (-250)

Bo Nickal (-2300) vs. Cody Brundage (+1100)

The biggest favorite on the UFC 300 card is the undefeated Bo Nickal. He is listed at -2300 in his Middleweight fight against Cody Brundage (+1100).

Nickal had just one professional fight before appearing on two episodes of the Dana White Contender Series. He has stopped all five of his opponents in the first round so far in his MMA career.

Brundage has had a rough go of it so far in the UFC. He is coming off of back-to-back wins but is just 404 in the promotion. Prior to his current winning streak, Brundage had lost four of his first six fights in the Octagon.

I believe Nickal’s winning streak will continue at UFC 300. No one has been able to slow down Nickal so far, and I do not think that will change on April 13th.

Prediction: Bo Nickal (-2300)

Justin Gaethje (c) (-225) vs. Max Holloway (+190)

The first of three title fights at UFC 300 will be for the BMF belt. Justin Gaethje will attempt to defend his belt against former UFC Featherweight champion Max Holloway. Sports betting sites have Gaethje listed as the -225 favorite over Holloway (+190).

This fight for the BMF title will be contested at 155 pounds. Both fighters have challenged for the Lightweight belt, but neither has been able to claim the undisputed belt.

Holloway started his professional career at Lightweight, but he has not won a fight at 155 pounds since March 2011. He also has a history of wanting to stand and strike with his opponents. I think that will cost him against someone as powerful as Gaethje.

UFC 300 is stacked with exciting fights, but this could easily be the Fight of the Night. I believe Gaethje will win and become the first person to ever knockout Holloway.

Prediction: Justin Gaethje (c) (-225)

Weili Zhang (c) (-355) vs. Xiaonan Yan (+280)

UFC gold will also be on the line in the co-main event. Women’s Strawweight champion Weili Zhang will look to defend her belt against Xiaonan Yan. BetOnline has Zhang (-355) as the favorite in this Strawweight title fight.

Yan (+280) has won back-to-back fights and won the Performance of the Night bonus for her knockout win over Jessica Andrade at UFC 288. She has had nearly a year to recover from that fight and should be well-rested for her first shot at UFC Gold.

Zhang defeated Carla Esparza at UFC 281 to reclaim the Strawweight belt. Esparza is one of just three women to defeat Yan in MMA. This will be Zhang’s second attempt to defend her title in her second run with the belt.

Despite the odds and Zhang’s success against Esparza, I do not think the champion will be successful at UFC 300. I believe Yan will come out on top and continue the rest trend of short title reigns in the women’s Strawweight division.

Prediction: Xiaonan Yan (+280)

Alex Pereira (c) (-140) vs. Jamahal Hill (+120)

The main event at UFC 300 features the highly anticipated Light Heavyweight fight of Jamahal Hill vs. Alex Pereira. This will be Pereira’s first attempt to defend the belt.

Pereira won the championship in just his second UFC fight at 205 pounds. He beat Jiří Procházka by knockout at UFC 295. Pereira is a former UFC Middleweight champion, too, but lost in his only attempt to defend the belt against Israel Adesanya.

Jamahal Hill is 12-1, 1 NC as a pro, and suffered an arm injury in his only career loss. He has knocked out seven opponents in seven of his 12 career wins. The champion is also a talented striker, so Hill vs. Pereira should be an exciting contest.

I believe that Pereira is better suited for 205 pounds than he was for 185 pounds. As a result, I also think he will fare better in his first title defense at Light Heavyweight than he did at Middleweight. Pereira should win this fight and officially earn his first successful title defense.

Prediction: Alex Pereira (c) (-140)
