The Office Spinoff Odds and Picks
Fans of Dunder Mifflin are buzzing with the recent news of The Office spinoff. In addition to new cast members being announced, we also know the plot of the show. With more information coming soon, now is a great time to start betting on the new series from Greg Daniels and Michael Koman.
Continue reading to see the latest betting odds for the upcoming spinoff of The Office. I will tell you what we know about the show already and tell you how to bet on entertainment odds online for this show.
Is There a Spinoff of The Office Coming Soon?
First and foremost, is The Office spinoff officially in the works? The short answer is yes: Peacock is working on a spinoff of the iconic sitcom.
Greg Daniels, the man credited for adapting the British show to the US version, has been announced as a co-creator for the spinoff. He is working with Michael Koman to create the new show, which is set in the same world as the original US version. Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant, co-creators of the original British version of the show, are also back as executive producers.
It was also announced that the spinoff will not be based on any of the original characters from The Office. Instead, it will follow an ensemble cast, mockumentary style, who are working at a midwestern newspaper. According to reports, the connection will be the documentary crew itself, as the same crew that filmed The Office will be creating the documentary about the newspaper.
Two members of the cast have also been announced. Domhnall Gleeson and Sabrina Impacciatore will both appear in the new series.
The Office Spinoff Odds
The Office spinoff will be under a lot of pressure, given the success of the British and US versions of the show. Luckily, you do not need the show to be a hit in order to cash in on the upcoming show. Here are three futures wagers you can bet on for the upcoming spinoff of The Office. The following odds are courtesy of BetUS Sportsbook.
What Will The Office Spinoff be Called?
Details about the new spinoff are scarce. In fact, we do not even know what the show will be called. The show will be focused on a newspaper in the Midwest and could share a name with the paper itself.
Here are the latest betting odds for the title of The Office spinoff.
Title | The Office Odds | Title | The Office Odds |
Times | +250 | Tribune | +300 |
Daily | +400 | Post | +400 |
Herald | +600 | Journal | +600 |
Press | +600 | Gazette | +900 |
News | +1000 | Republican | +1000 |
Conservative | +1200 | Methodist | +1500 |
Democrat | +2500 | Liberal | +2500 |
You do not need to guess the whole title, which is a bonus for bettors. Instead, you just need one of the words above to appear in the official title.
“Times” is the favorite at +250, with “Tribune” a close second at +300. “Daily” and “Post” are tied for the third-best odds at +400. All four are great options, with The New York Times, The Washington Post, and the Chicago Tribune being three of the most popular newspapers in the US.
The latter is especially popular in the Midwest, and it is easy to imagine a local paper using any of the words in the table above. On the other hand, The Office was not named after the company. It was named after the workplace itself, and the show focused on the people in the office, not just Dunder Mifflin.
With that in mind, I would pick “News” for this wager. It could be used in the name of the paper or describe the workplace.
Prediction” “News” will be included in the title of The Office spinoff (+250)
Which Actors From The Office Appear in Season 1 of the Spinoff?
Only two members of the cast of The Office spinoff have been revealed. We know it will be an entirely new cast, but there is nothing stopping actors from the original US version from making special appearances.
It is unlikely that any of the original actors will reprise their roles, but it is possible. Even if they are in different roles, actors from the original show could still make appearances. Check out the table below to see the odds for which actors will appear in season one of the spinoff.
Actor | The Office Odds | Actor | The Office Odds |
Rainn Wilson | +250 | Jenna Fischer | +300 |
John Krasinski | +400 | Steve Carell | +500 |
Leslie David Baker | +600 | Kathy Bates | +600 |
James Spader | +600 | Idris Elba | +600 |
Ricky Gervais | +1200 | N/A | N/A |
Betting options for this wager are listed according to the actor. So, they do not need to be reprising their original role in order to qualify.
Rainn Wilson, who played Dwight Schrute, is the favorite at +250. Wilson has said he would be open to returning if Daniels wants Dwight to make a cameo. Jenna Fischer (+300) and John Krasinski (+400), who starred as Pam and Jim in the original, have the second and third-best odds, respectively.
Steve Carell is listed at +500, but this wager is especially risky. Carell recently stated that he plans to watch the spinoff but that it does not make sense for his character to appear. That would not stop Carell from making a guest appearance as a new character, though.
Ricky Gervais (+1200) is another interesting option. He co-created and starred in the British version and made an appearance in the US remake. Gervais did not appear until later in the show, though, so he may not appear in season one.
I think Jenna Fischer makes the most sense for this bet. Fischer, along with Angela Kinsey, has enjoyed tremendous success with their podcast Office Ladies, which relives the glory days of the show. She also would not need to appear as her original character, which would be easier to work into the show without stealing the spotlight.
Prediction: Jenna Fischer appears in season one of The Office spinoff
Will the Spinoff Mention Dunder Mifflin?
- Yes (+300)
A third futures wager available for this show is whether Dunder Mifflin, the paper company from the original show, will be mentioned in The Office spinoff. As I mentioned above, the spinoff will be set in the same universe as the original show. Also, the same “crew” that made the original documentary will be making the film in the spinoff.
With that in mind, I think it makes sense for the cast onscreen to ask about the first documentary. Alternatively, the company itself could make an appearance as a potential paper supplier for the newspaper.
Only the “yes” option has odds available in this wager. It is listed at +300, giving it a ton of value. Even a half-stakes wager can result in a respectable payout, and it makes sense from a plot perspective to mention Dunder Mifflin.
Prediction: Dunder Mifflin is mentioned in The Office spinoff.
