Three NFL Week 16

The best Week 16 NFL prop bets included two games that will be played on Saturday. Buffalo, fresh off a beat down of the Cowboys, will travel to La to take on the Chargers. Then, Cincinnati will go to Pittsburgh for the second and final game of their regular season series.

Betting on football online lets you take advantage of the latest odds for both of these contests. Three of the four teams involved are still realistically in the hunt for a playoff spot. This will also be our first look at the Chargers in the post-Staley Era.

Continue reading to see the best NFL player props for Week 16’s Saturday games. I will break down the best props available and tell you my predictions for each bet.

Saturday NFL Prop Bets for Week 16

For the second week in a row, the NFL has games scheduled on Saturday. This week we get to see the Bills vs. the Chargers and the Bengals vs. the Steelers a day earlier than normal. Here at the Saturday NFL props that you should make this weekend.

Buffalo Bills: James Cook Anytime TD Scorer (-121)

RB James Cook has finally been given his chance to shine in Buffalo. After years of underutilizing talented RBs, the Bills decided to take a run-heavy approach against the Cowboys last weekend. Cook had 27 total touches for 221 scrimmage yards and two scores.

He also set his season high in rushing attempts with 25 carries. Prior to last week, Cook’s season-high was 17 carries in a game. Last week was just his third 100-yard rushing game of the season.

I think that the Bills need to continue to rely on their running game if they want to make the playoffs. The Chargers’ defense has allowed 4.2 yards per carry for 1,595 yards this season. LA has also allowed 16 rushing TDs, tied for the sixth-most in the league.

With that in mind, I think that Cook will find the endzone against this week. He has the shortest odds of any player in this game to score a TD at -121.

Prediction:

James Cook anytime TD scorer (-121)

Buffalo Bills: Josh Allen Over 0.5 Interceptions (Even)

Another Bills player that I would bet on in Week 16 props is QB Josh Allen. The dominant performance from Cook allowed Allen to finish last week’s game with just 15 pass attempts and 96 passing yards.

I think Allen will need to do more this weekend to win a game on the other side of the country. LA’s defense was bad un Brandon Staley, but they will have extra motivation this week. Staley was fired, and Giff Smith has taken the reigns.

Allen is a turnover machine and is currently tied for the NFL league in total turnovers at 17. I believe he will turn the ball over at least once this week. He did not throw one last week, which ended a streak of nine straight games with at least one interception.

Football betting sites have Allen listed at even money to have over 0.5 interceptions in this game. Allen has at least one INT in 11 of the Bills’ 14 games this season. I doubt Allen can go back-to-back games without an interception.

Prediction:

Josh Allen over 0.5 interceptions (even)

LA Chargers: Austin Ekeler Over 36.5 Total Rushing Yards (-115)

The other half of Saturday’s first AFC matchup is the LA Chargers. LA lost 63-21 on TNF last week and promptly fired their head coach and GM.

This will be our first look at the Chargers since they made the change. QB Easton Stick will once again be under center as Justin Herbert had season-ending surgery earlier this week.

I believe that means that RB Austin Ekeler will have to be a big part of Saturday’s game plan. He is listed at over/under 36.5 rushing yards for this game.

Ekeler has been disappointing this season, racking up just 506 rushing yards in 11 games. He has only gone over 100 scrimmage yards in four appearances this season. Assuming the Chargers use a run-heavy approach, I think that Ekeler can get over 36.5 rushing yards in this game.

Prediction:

Austin Ekeler over 36.5 total rushing yards (-115)

Cincinnati Bengals: Tee Higgins Anytime TD Scorer (+185)

The second game in Saturday’s double-header is an AFC North divisional matchup between the Bengals and the Steelers. Despite losing its starting QB Joe Burrow for the season, Cincinnati has stayed firmly in the AFC playoff race.

Cincinnati will have even more obstacles to overcome this week as starting WR Ja’Marr Chase is likely to miss the game. Chase is recovering from a separated shoulder. That means a bigger workload for pending free agent WR Tee Higgins.

Bovada has Higgins listed at +185 to score a TD in this game. He has the third-best odds of any Bengals player, behind only Joe Mixon (+110) and Chase (+175). As I said, Chase is likely to miss this game with a shoulder injury, so Higgins is really only behind Mixon.

Higgins’ TD scorer odds will shorten once Chase is officially ruled out. Betting on the defacto WR1 now will help you lock in the payout odds on this Week 16 props wager.

Prediction:

Tee Higgins anytime TD scorer (+185)

Cincinnati Bengals: Jake Browning Over 1.5 Passing TDs (+120)

A major reason why the Bengals have been able to stay in the playoff hunt is the play of backup QB Jake Browning. He is 3-1 as a starter, with his only loss coming in his first start against the Steelers in Week 12.

Browning has found his footing since then, leading the Bengals to three straight wins. Two of those wins came in overtime. He should have another chance to shine this weekend against a beat-up Steelers defense.

Sports betting sites have Browning listed at over/under 1.5 passing TDs in Saturday’s game. As I mentioned above, I think Higgins will have at least one TD this week. All Browning needs to do is connect on another TD pass for this Week 16 props bet to hit.

I would take the over on this wager. Browning and the Bengals have been balling out lately, and two or more passing TDs are definitely doable.

The Bet:

Jake Browning over 1.5 passing TDs (+120)

Pittsburgh Steelers: Mason Rudolph Under 191.5 Passing Yards (-115)

Pittsburgh has made a change at QB for this game. The Steelers have benched Mitch Trubisky after a predictably terrible stint as the starting QB. Now Pittsburgh will pin its playoff hopes on Mason Rudolph, who is also terrible.

Rudolph has started 10 games in his career, with eight of those starts coming in 2019. He is 5-4-1 as the starter and is most famous for being attacked by Myles Garrett with his own helmet and being benched for Duck Hodges.

I doubt that Rudolph will be much of an improvement over Trubisky, but Pittsburgh is out of options at the QB position. Rudolph is listed at over/under 191.5 passing yards for this game. For reference, he has averaged 208.1 passing yards per game in his 10 career starts.

The Bengals are the hotter team, and Pittsburgh lacks an identity on offense right now. I would also never wager on Rudolph playing well. With that in mind, I would take the under on this total passing yards prop.

Prediction:

Mason Rudolph under 191.5 passing yards (-115)

Best Week 16 NFL Saturday Parlay

The NFL player props for Saturday’s games listed above are all great wagers on their one. But you can get even more out of your bets by making a player prop parlay.

Bovada’s parlay builder makes it easy to combine your favorite props into one wager. Here is an example of a three-leg parlay you can make using the Week 16 props above:

  • James Cook anytime TD scorer (-121)
  • Josh Allen over 0.5 INTs (even)
  • Tee Higgins anytime TD scorer (+185)
  • Parlay odds: +1356

The +1356 payout odds for this parlay offer you the chance at a huge payout. Even a small stake with these odds can generate a huge payout. The payout is a lot bigger than what you can get from betting on these three wagers individually.

Parlays are risky, though, because every leg has to hit in order for you to win. But +1356 odds for a three-leg parlay is worth the risk.
