Wagering on Thanksgiving NFL Prop bets is the easiest way to win money from the upcoming football tripleheader this Thursday. Three exciting matchups are scheduled for Turkey Day, including two NFC divisional games.

This guide highlights the best NFL prop bets for Thanksgiving 2024 at the top football betting sites. I will tell you my five favorite props for the three Thursday games and give my predictions for this year’s Thanksgiving NFL matchups.

Thanksgiving 2024 NFL Schedule

Bovada Sportsbook is offering competitive NFL player props for every Thanksgiving game. Before you start planning your wagers, it is helpful to know which teams will be gracing your screens this Turkey Day.

The three NFL Thanksgiving Games in 2024 are:

  • Chicago Bears vs. Detroit Lions (-10.0)
  • New York Giants vs. Dallas Cowboys (-3.5)
  • Miami Dolphins vs. Green Bay Packers (-3.0)

All three home teams are favored this Thanksgiving, with Detroit being the biggest favorite at -10.0. Dallas is a 3.5-point favorite in the battle of backup quarterbacks, and the Packers are 3.0-point favorites over the Dolphins in the cold at Lambeau.

5 Best Thanksgiving NFL Prop Bets

Bovada has hundreds of Thanksgiving NFL prop bets for football fans to take advantage of. Here are my top five NFL prop wagers for Thanksgiving 2024.

D’Andre Swift Anytime TD Scorer (+145)

The Bears are 10.0-point underdogs on the road in Detroit this Thursday. Chicago has lost five straight games, including their first two divisional matchups of the season. On the bright side, the Bears lost to the Packers and the Vikings by just a combined four points.

Chicago forced overtime last week in Minnesota, and they only lost to Green Bay because of a blocked field goal as time expired. The Bears have been better than their record suggests, and they are a great bet to cover the 10.0-point spread this week. Detroit has been dominant, but they have not blown out their divisional opponents this season.

To pull off the upset, Chicago needs its playmakers to step up this week, including D’Andre Swift. The fifth-year running back has racked up 943 scrimmage yards and five touchdowns on 199 total touches. Swift has scored once in his last four games, but I think he will find the endzone on Thursday against the team that drafted him.

Detroit has allowed just 1,044 rushing yards, fifth-fewest, and nine rushing touchdowns, tied for eighth-fewest. However, the Lions have only faced 242 rush attempts, the second-fewest in the NFL, and allow 4.3 yards per rush attempt. The Bears need to run the ball to control the clock and prevent the game from getting out of hand, which increases Swift’s chances of scoring this week.

Amon-Ra St. Brown Over 6.5 Catches (+110)

Another Thanksgiving NFL player prop from this NFC North matchup that I like is for Lions’ receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown to have over 6.5 catches (+110). St. Brown has at least six catches in four straight games, and I think he will cover his receptions total this week against Chicago.

Detroit started hot last season, but they stumbled on Thanksgiving against the Packers. The Lions are off to a great start again this year, and a win over another divisional rival will move them one step closer to securing the top seed in the NFC.

St. Brown has had eight or more catches twice in his six career matchups against Chicago. He will catch at least seven passes this week as the Lions look for their first win on Thanksgiving since 2016.

Chicago’s defense was great to start the season, but it has struggled during the Bears’ five-game losing streak. There are simply too many weapons on the Lions offense for Chicago to try and stop this week. St. Brown will show out in this stand-alone game, helping Detroit end its near-decade-long losing streak on Thanksgiving.

Tyrone Tracy Over 63.5 Rushing Yards (-115)

The other divisional matchup scheduled for Thanksgiving pits the Giants (2-9) against the Cowboys (4-7) in Dallas. New York and Dallas have losing records and will be starting backup quarterbacks in this holiday matchup. Betting on player props is one way to make this battle of teams with losing records more exciting.

One of my top player props for this NFC East matchup is for Giants rookie running back Tyrone Tracy to have over 63.5 yards (-115) against Dallas. Tracy and fellow rookie Malik Nabers are among the few bright spots on the Giants offense this season. Dallas held Washington’s running backs to just 57 yards on 17 carries last week.

The Cowboys’ success was largely due to injuries to the Commanders’ top running backs. Dallas allowed quarterback Jayden Daniels to rack up 74 rushing yards on just seven attempts on Sunday.

Tracy has 587 rushing yards on 116 attempts in his rookie season. He will have a productive day against a Dallas defense that allows 4.8 yards per carry, which is third-most in the league. With that in mind, I suggest taking the over on Tracy’s rushing total this week.

CeeDee Lamb Over 65.5 Receiving Yards (-115)

Dallas is the favorite this Thursday, but they are a risky bet to cover at home. The Cowboys have not won a game at AT&T Stadium since January 7th, the regular season finale last season. Breaking that streak will be easier said than done with Cooper Rush under center.

If Dallas wants to pick up its first home win of the season, they will need star wide receiver CeeDee Lamb to carry them to victory. Lamb has at least seven targets in every game this season. He also has had at least 10 targets in six straight games, including every game Rush has started this season.

Lamb’s targets have not always led to yards, but they will this week. He has had at least 67 receiving yards in back-to-back games, and he had 98 receiving yards in his first matchup with the Giants this season.

Rush is limited at best in terms of his quarterback ability, but Lamb is also the only receiving threat Dallas has. New York will do its best to cover Lamb, but the star wide receiver will see enough targets to cover his receiving total on Thanksgiving.

Tua Tagovailoa Under 242.5 Passing Yards (-115)

Rounding out my list of the best Thanksgiving NFL prop bets is Dolphins’ quarterback Tua Tagovailoa’s passing yards total. Tua has struggled in every cold-weather game he has played in in his NFL career. It will be cold on Thanksgiving in Green Bay, and I expect Tua’s struggles to continue.

Tagovailoa is listed at over/under 242.5 passing yards against the Packers, and I do not think he will cover his total. Green Bay has allowed the ninth-fewest passing yards in the NFL this season. Their defense faces a tough test against Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle, but the cold weather will give the Packers the edge.

Tua is 0-7 in his NFL career when the temperature is below 40 degrees. His passing stats are worse than his record in cold weather would suggest. In Miami’s Wild Card loss to the Chiefs, the last cold-weather game we saw Tua play, he completed just 51.3% of his passes for 199 yards.

It will not be nearly as cold in Lambeau this week as it was in that playoff game, but it will be cold enough to bother Tua. The cold weather and the Packers’ stout passing defense suggest Tua will not cover his passing total on Thanksgiving.
