Super Bowl 58 MVP Odds: Will Patrick Mahomes Win MVP?
Patrick Mahomes is the betting favorite in the current Super Bowl MVP odds at most sportsbooks. Mahomes has won two Big Gam MVPs in his career, including one last year when he led the Chiefs past the Eagles. To win his third, Mahomes will have to get past the 49ers, the team he defeated for his first Super Bowl MVP four years ago.
You can bet on the Super Bowl online and access MVP odds for every star player taking the field on Super Bowl Sunday. Unlike the regular season MVP, the Big Game MVP is not a de facto QB award. In the last 10 games, two wide receivers and two linebackers have been awarded Super Bowl MVP.

Updated Super Bowl 58 MVP Odds
The Chiefs and the 49ers will square off on Super Bowl Sunday once again. Kansas City came out on top when these teams met in Super Bowl 54, and Mahomes won the MVP. Here are the latest Super Bowl 58 MVP odds, courtesy of Bovada Sportsbook.
- QB Patrick Mahomes (+120)
- QB Brock Purdy (+225)
- RB Christian McCaffrey (+450)
- TE Travis Kelce (+1000)
- WR Deebo Samuel (+2000)
- RB Isaiah Pacheco (+2500)
- WR Rashee Rice (+5000)
- George Kittle (+6000)
- WR Brandon Aiyuk (+6000)
- Nick Bosa (+6500)
Patrick Mahomes’ MVP odds are listed at +120, making him the favorite at this point to win the award. The second-best odds belong to 49ers QB Brock Purdy, who is listed at +225. San Francisco RB Christian McCaffrey has the best odds of any non-QB at +450.
Best Super Bowl MVP Bets
Bovada has Super Bowl MVP odds for all of the top stars taking the field on Super Bowl Sunday. Here is a closer look at some of the best bets to win the Big Game MVP in Las Vegas.
Patrick Mahomes (+120)
Mahomes’ Super Bowl MVP odds are currently listed at +120. The Chiefs have won two Super Bowls so far with Mahomes, and the star QB has won the MVP both times. Given the state of the Chiefs’ receiving corps, Mahomes will need an MVP-level performance for Kansas City to repeat as Super Bowl champions.
Most big-time throws throughout the playoffs:

🥇 Brock Purdy – 5 pic.twitter.com/HJtgsmrA4E— PFF Fantasy & Betting (@PFF_Fantasy) January 31, 2024
There is no rule that states that the MVP of the Super Bowl has to come from the winning team. However, only one MVP has come from the losing team. Cowboys LB Chuck Howley won the MVP in Super Bowl 5, even though the Cowboys lost to the Colts.
Kansas City is currently two-point underdogs against San Francisco. I think Mahomes can lead the Chiefs to the upset win. If he cannot, though, then his chances of winning the MVP will be significantly lower.
Brock Purdy (+225)
The other starting QB in this year’s Super Bowl matchup is Brock Purdy. San Francisco’s QB is listed at +225 to win MVP of Super Bowl 58 at top sports betting sites.
Purdy was a regular season MVP candidate in his first full year as the 49ers starter. If he can play at his regular season level, then Purdy has a good chance of leading the 49ers to their first Super Bowl win in nearly three decades.
During the regular season, Purday racked up 4,280 passing yards, 31 passing TDs, and just 11 INTs. He also averaged 9.6 yards per attempt this season. In two playoff games so far, though, Purdy has 519 yards, two touchdowns, and an interception.
Purdy’s yards per attempt are also down as he is averaging just 7.4 Y/A so far in the postseason. He will have to step his game up if he wants to get MVP honors and lead his team to victory. That could be easier said than down against a defense as tough as Kansas City’s.
Christian McCaffrey (+450)
The regular season MVP has essentially become a QB-only award. The same cannot be said yet for the Super Bowl MVP. Four of the last 10 Big Game MVP winners have been non-QBs, and two of them have even been on defense.
Christian McCaffrey since joining the 49ers:

♦️ 2,631 rushing yards
♦️ 1,161 receiving yards
♦️ 38 Total TDs pic.twitter.com/nQt8yOea1O— PFF (@PFF) January 31, 2024
A running back has not on the MVP of the Super Bowl in over 25 years, though. Terrel Davis won MVP of Super Bowl 32 when he helped power the Broncos paster the Packers. $9ers’ RB Christian McCaffrey might be the best bet to break that streak.
McCaffrey had over 2,000 scrimmage yards and 21 total TDs in the regular season. He has continued his dominance in the playoffs, racking up 260 total yards and four TDs so far in the postseason. If McCaffrey can continue to play at a high level, then he is a good pick to win the MVP.
San Francisco will need McCaffrey to be at his best to have a chance to beat the Chiefs. Kansas City allowed 4.5 yards per carry in the regular season, tied for the seventh-most in the league. However, the Chiefs slowed down the Ravens’ running game last week, and they have two weeks to prepare for McCaffrey.
Travis Kelce (+1000)
The best bet to win MVP on the Chiefs, other than Mahomes, is star TE Travis Kelce. Taylor Swift’s boyfriend is listed at +1000 to take home MVP honors. Kelce would also make history, as no TE has ever won the MVP of the Big Game.
This will be Kelce’s fourth appearance in the Super Bowl. In his previous three, Kelce has racked up 257 yards and two TDs on 22 catches. However, his best game came in the Chief’s loss to the Bucs, when Kelce had 10 catches for 133 yards.
In both of the Chiefs’ wins with Kelce, the star TE has just six catches and one TD in each game. He will need to put up better numbers if Kelce wants to be the first TE to win Super Bowl MVP. However, the better Kelce’s numbers are, the better Mahomes MVP odds will also become.
Nick Bosa (+6500)
On the defensive side, the player with the best Super Bowl 58 MVP odds is Nick Bosa. San Fran’s star pass rusher and the reigning Defensive Player of the Year is listed at +6500 to win MVP honors. If he can have a big day on football’s biggest stage, then Bose could take home his first Super Bowl MVP.

Bosa has not had a great season thus far, though. He has just 10,5 sacks in the regular season, eight fewer than he had in his DPoY season last year. It was also his fewest sacks as a pro in a season where he has played at least 14 games.
On the other hand, Bosa does have two sacks already in the playoffs. Also, the Chiefs offensive line has allowed Mahomes to be sacked 29 this year, including twice so far in the postseason.
Even if he does not rack up the stats, Bosa could have a major impact by forcing KC linemen into penalties. He will likely be lining up most of the day against Chiefs’ RT Jawaan Taylor. Taylor is the most penalized offensive lineman in the league and could be in for a long day against Bosa.
Super Bowl MVP Pick
Betting on Super Bowl 58 MVP odds is one of the most popular ways to make futures wagers on the Big Game. Plates from either team can win, but it will most likely go to someone from the team that wins. So far, 56 of the 57 Super Bowl MVP awards have gone to players on the winning team.

I think that the Chiefs will pull off the upset in Super Bowl 58, so I am limiting my options to Kansas City players. With that in mind, I do not think that the Chiefs can win without Patrick Mahomes playing at his best. If Mahomes plays at his best, then it is hard to imagine anyone else being more deserving of the MVP award.
If it is not Mahomes, then I think Christian McCaffrey will take home the MVP award. McCaffrey can rack up stats as a runner and a receiver, and he could power the 49ers to a win in Las Vegas. In the end, though, I believe the Chiefs will be taking home the Lombardi, so I would bet on Mahomes’ Super Bowl MVP odds.

Whose Super Bowl MVP Odds Will You Bet On?
The 49ers will take on the Chiefs in Super Bowl 58 on February 11th in Las Vegas. In addition to betting on the winner of the game, football betting sites have great prop wagers for this game.
One of the most popular Super Bowl props is which player will take home the Super Bowl MVP. Patrick Mahomes has the best odds of winning, and he is my pick to win the award. You can find even more Super Bowl odds, including the latest Mahomes MVP odds, at Bovada Sportsbook.
