Oscars-Trophies

The latest Oscars odds for 2024 offer dozens of betting markets for film buffs to wager on. You can bet on major awards, like Best Picture, or smaller categories, like Best Production Design.

Top Oscar betting sites even offer prop wagers for the annual award show. You can easily take advantage of all the best odds by betting on the Academy Awards online. Betting online also makes it easy to shop for the most competitive odds.

I will break down the best Oscars props bets below. Also, I will give you my predictions for a handful of smaller Oscars categories.

Oscars Props

Betting on the Oscars odds for major categories is just one way to wager on the 2024 Academy Awards. Sites like BetUS have great props wagers available for this year’s awards as well.

How Many Oscars Will Oppenheimer Win?

  • None (+3000)
  • 1 to 3 (+2000)
  • 4 to 6 (+250)
  • 7 to 9 (-300)
  • 10 to 12 (+600)
  • 13 (+2200)

One of the first things you will notice when looking at the 2024 Oscars betting odds is that Oppenheimer dominates many categories. The epic film from Christoper Nolan is favored in many categories this year. BetUS even has a prop bet for the total number of Oscars Oppenheimer will win.

The film is nominated in 13 categories, but it is listed at +2200 to win every category it is nominated in. According to the latest Oscars props odds, Oppenheimer is more likely to sweep the Academy Awards than not win any Oscars (+3000).

A total of 7 to 9 Oscars for Oppenheimer is listed as the favorite at -300. I would stick with the favorite for this prop wager. The film would have to win less than half of the wards it is nominated for to fall in the 4 to 6 Oscars (+250) range.

Also, Only four films have 10 or more Oscars wins. Ben-Hur, Titanic, the Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King, and West Side Story all won 10 or more Academy Awards. Oppenheimer was a great film, but I do not think it will hit double-digits at this year’s Oscars.

Prediction: 7 to 9 (-300)

Who Will be Shown Last on the “In Memoriam” Segment?

  • Matthew Perry (+150)
  • Tina Turner (+225)
  • William Friedkin (+350)
  • Sinead O’Connor (+450)
  • Carl Weathers (+1200)

The “In Memoriam” segment has been a staple of the annual Academy Awards show for decades. The segment is the show’s way of honoring members of the film industry who unfortunately passed away in the last year. BetUS allows you to bet on this annual segment with this prop wager.

Matthew Perry (+150) is the favorite to be shown last during the “In Memoriam” segment. The beloved Friends star passed away in October. World-renowned singer Tina Turner (+225) and Hollywood legend William Friedkin (+350) have the second and third-best odds, respectively.

Sinead O’Connor (+450) and Carl Weathers (+1200) round out the top five. BetUS has odds on 25 different stars that could be the final person shown during the segment.

All of the options are worthy candidates, but I would stick with Perry for this bet. Perry was popular with multiple generations thanks to his role on Friends. Also, he passed relatively recently and offers plus-money payout odds despite being the favorite.

Prediction: Matthew Perry (+150)

How Many Oscars Will Canada Win?

  • Over 0.5 (+105)
  • Under 0.5 (-145)

BetUS is also offering a prop bet on the total number of Oscars the nation of Canada will win take home. The over/under is set at 0.5 Academy Awards.

You will only need one of the following to win an Oscar in any of the categories they are nominated for:

  • Ryan Gosling
  • Robbie Robertson
  • Past Lives (Best Picture or Best Screen Play)
  • To Kill a Tiger (Best Documentary Feature)
  • Invincible (Best Live Action Short Film)
  • The Last Repair Shop (Best Documentary Short)

I picked The Last Repair Shop to win Best Documentary Short in my original Oscars predictions. If that pick is correct, then the over in this totals wager would also hit. With that in mind, I would take the over on 0.5 Oscars going to the Great White North.

Prediction: Over 0.5 (+105)

Other Oscars Odds

In addition to great Oscars prop bets, BetUS has great odds on smaller categories at the Academy Awards. Here are five more predictions for the 2024 Oscars.

Best Animated Short Film

  • Letter to a Pig (-200)
  • War Is Over! (-110)
  • Ninety-Five Sense (+500)
  • Pachyderme (+2000)
  • Our Uniform (+2500)

Letter to a Pig (-200) is a slight favorite over War is Over! (-110) to win Best Animated Short. The next closest nominee is Ninety-Five Sense, which is listed at +500.

The category appears to be a two-film race based on the current Oscars odds. Both films were created in 2022 and have received plenty of recognition at film festivals since. Between the two, I would side with War Is Over!, the slight underdog.

War Is Over! was written and directed by Dave Mullins, a former Pixar animator. Mullins has been nominated in the category before, and I think he will pick up his first win this year.

Prediction: War is Over (-110)

Best Documentary Feature

  • 20 Days in Mariupol (-1000)
  • Bobi Wine: The People’s President (+800)
  • Four Daughters (+800)
  • The Eternal Memory (+1000)
  • To Kill a Tiger (+2000)

There is a heavy favorite in the Best Documentary Feature category. The film 20 Days in Mariupol is listed at -1000 in the latest Oscars 2024 odds.

To Kill a Tiger is also nominated in this category, but it has the longest odds at +2000. If the film does win, then it would be enough to cover the over on the 0.5 Oscars for Canada. I would not bet on that happening, though.

I would stick with the favorite, but there are two interesting films tied for the second-best odds. Bobi Wine: The People’s President and Four Daughters are both listed at 8-1. Even a small wager at those odds could offer a big payout if either film upsets the favorite.

Prediction: 20 Days in Mariupol (-1000)

Best Live Action Short Film

  • The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar (-700)
  • Knight of Fortune (+400)
  • The After (+800)
  • Red, White, and Blue (+1500)
  • Invincible (+2000)

Another heavy favorite at the 96th Academy Awards is The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar. The film is listed at -700 to win the Best Live Action Short Film category.

Invincible, a film by Canadian director Vincent René-Lortie, is also up for this category. However, it has the longest odds at +2000. Knight of Fortune (+400), The After (+800), and Red, White, and Blue (+1500) are the other nominees for this category.

The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar was directed by Wes Anderson and has plenty of star power. It was well-received by critics and audiences, and I believe it will win Best Live Action Short Film this year.

Prediction: The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar (-700)

Best Makeup and Hairstyling

  • Maestro (-180)
  • Poor Things (+150)
  • Society of the Snow (+1100)
  • Oppenheimer (+2000)
  • Golda (+2100)

One of the few categories that Oppenheimer is nominated for but not a favorite is the Best Makeup and Hairstyling category. It is listed at +2000, giving Oppenheimer the second-lowest odds of winning this category.

The favorite in this category is Maestro at -180. It is closely followed by Poor Things at +150. You need Oppenheimer to pull off the upset if you want to wager on it winning all 13 Oscars it is nominated for.

I do not think that Oppenheimer will win this category, but I do believe Poor Things can beat Maestro. I would take Poor Things in this Oscars bet.

Prediction: Poor Things (+150)

Best Production Design

  • Poor Things (-150)
  • Barbie (+110)
  • Oppenheimer (+850)
  • Napoleon (+4000)
  • The Killers of the Flower Moon (+4000)

Rounding out my list of Oscars 2024 predictions is the Best Production Design category. Poor Things and Barbie are the two favorites, at -150 and +110 odds, respectively. Oppenheimer rounds out the top three at +850.

Napoleon and The Killers of the Flower Moon are also up for this award, but they are both listed at +4000 odds. I would stick with the favorite, Poor Things, to win this category.

Prediction: Poor Things (-150)
