Football bettors have a special set of NFL player props available for a standalone Saturday game this week. The Lions take on the Cowboys in Dallas in a prime-time matchup.

You can bet on the NFL online and get access to dozens of betting markets for this game. This battle of top NFC teams will have huge implications for the playoff race. Betting on playoff props can help make this matchup even more exciting.

Keep reading to see my picks for the best Lions vs. Cowboys player props. I will tell you which bets you should make and which sides you should take. Odds for these props were provided by Bovada Sportsbook.

Lions Player Props

Detroit clinched its first division title in 30 years with last week’s win over the Vikings. Now the Lions have to travel to Dallas to face one of the toughest home teams in NFL history. The Cowboys have lost back-to-back games, though, and the Lions have the talent to make it three in a row.

Here are my favorite Week 17 NFL props for the Detroit Lions.

Jahmyr Gibbs Anytime TD Scorer (+110)

Rookie RB Jahmyr Gibbs had a slow start to his first season in the NFL. Over the course of this season, though, he has slowly but surely carved out a role for himself in the Lions offense. Gibbs has racked up 872 rushing yards and 316 receiving yards so far during his rookie campaign.

The rookie RB also has 10 total TDs this season and has scored in seven of the team’s last nine games. He is listed at +110 to be an anytime TD scorer this weekend against the Cowboys.

Dallas has been dominant at home this season, and no one would be surprised if Detroit’s offense struggled this week. However, Gibbs has proven he can put up stats even in blowout losses. He had 126 scrimmage yards and his first career TD in the Lions 38-6 loss to Baltimore.

I think Gibbs will find his way to the endzone at least once this Saturday. He has the second-best odds of any Lions player to score, behind only fellow RB David Montgomery (+100).

Prediction:

Jahmyr Gibbs anytime TD Scorer (+110)

Jared Goff Under 252.5 Passing Yards (-115)

One Lions player that I am concerned about this weekend is QB Jared Goff. He has struggled against great defensive lines that can put pressure on him. Goff has also struggled to play outside, especially late in the year.

The good news for Goff is that AT&T Stadium is a domed field. However, the Cowboys’ defense is also one of the best units in the league. They have dominated opponents at home and should put a lot of pressure on Goff this weekend.

Dallas has generated 40 sacks on opposing QBs this season, most of which have come at home. They have also allowed just 15.8 points per game at home, which is a big reason why they are 7-0 in Dallas.

Goff is listed at over/under 252.5 passing yards for this game. Given Goff’s struggles against teams that can generate pressure, I would lean toward the under in this total passing yards prop wager.

Prediction:

Jared Goff under 252.5 passing yards (-115)

Sam LaPorta Over 48.5 Receiving Yards

The Lions are five-point underdogs on the road this weekend. If Detroit wants to upset Dallas, then they need their playmakers to step up. That includes rookie TE Sam LaPorta.

LaPorta should have plenty of chances to make an impact this weekend. The Cowboys’ defense will likely be keyed in on stopping the run and guarding star WR Amon-Ra St. Brown. That means that LaPorta should be able to take advantage of mismatches on Saturday.

Football betting sites have LaPorta listed at over/under 48.5 receiving yards for this contest. He has covered that total in seven of the Lions’ 15 games this season.

I think that LaPorta can get to at least 50 receiving yards this season. He is averaging 10.5 yards per reception this season and should see at least a handful of targets this weekend. I would take the over on this total receiving yards NFL player props wager.

Cowboys Player Props

The other half of this Saturday’s prime-time game is the Dallas Cowboys. Dallas has lost back-to-back games, but they were both on the road. They can right the ship and improve to 8-0 at home with a win over the Lions this weekend.

Here are the Week 17 NFL player props I recommend for the Cowboys.

CeeDee Lamb TD Props

  • Anytime TD scorer (-139)
  • At least 2 TDs (+300)
  • 3 or more TDs (+1700)

CeeDee Lamb has cemented himself as one of the best, elite young WRs in the NFL. The 24-year-old has 109 receptions for 1,424 yards and nine TDs so far this season.

Lamb also has at least 10 targets in each of the Cowboys’ last four games. He should be a big part of the game plan this weekend against the Lions. Bovada has multiple betting markets available for Lamb as a TD scorer this weekend.

My favorite bet for Lamb is for him to be an anytime TD scorer (-139). You can also bet on him to have at least two TDS (+300) or three or more TDs (+1700).

I think Lamb scores at least once against the Lions on Saturday. Lamb is available to have at least one TD (-167). However, his anytime TD scorer odds offer a slightly better payout, so that is the market I would bet on.

Dak Prescott Over 2.5 Passing TDs (+120)

I also think that Cowboys’ QB Dak Prescott is in store for a big game this week. Dak needs a get-right game, and this matchup against the Lions could be the perfect opportunity. Detroit is tied for the eighth-fewest sacks in the league this season at 34.

The Lions have also struggled on the road this year, while the Cowboys have cooked teams at home. Dak is likely out of the MVP race, but he could have an MYP-type game this week in prime time.

Sports betting sites have Dak listed at over/under 2.5 passing TDs for this matchup. Prescott has 30 passing TDs this season and has at least two in six of the Cowboys’ seven home games so far.

Prescott has had three or more passing TDs in five games this season. Four of those games have come at home. I think he can do it again this weekend, and I recommend taking the over on this total passing TDs prop wager.

Micah Parsons Has At Least 1 Sack (-197)

The Cowboys’ defense is also due for a get-right game this weekend. They have allowed 53 total points in the last two games. Dallas is at home this week, so the defense should be in line to get back to its dominant ways.

Dallas has held opponents to 20 or fewer points in six of its seven home games this season. As I mentioned above, the Lions have also struggled on the road, especially against teams that can generate pressure.

I think that Dallas will be able to get after Goff early and often in this NFC matchup. For that to happen, third-year star Micha Parsons will likely have to have a great game. Parsons is listed at over/under 0.5 sacks for this contest.

Micah has 13 sacks so far this season and has the shortest odds of any Cowboy to get a sack this weekend. The next closest is DeMarcus Lawrence at +200. I think Parson gets home at least once in this game and would bet on him with this wager.

Best Lions vs. Cowboys Player Props Parlay

In addition to exciting props bet, Bovada also has a great parlay builder. You can use this betting tool to create an exciting same-game parlay for this Lions vs. Cowboys matchup.

For example, you can combine some of the NFL player props above into a parlay and get improved payout odds. Here is an example of just one of the three-legged single-game parlays you can make for this game:

  • Jared Goff under 252.5 passing yards (-115)
  • Dak Prescott over 2.5 passing TDs (+120)
  • Micah Parsons has at least 1 sack (-197)
  • Parlay odds: +525

Only one of the legs of this parlay is listed at plus-money odds. However, since it is a parlay, you still get +525 odds for betting on all three legs in a parlay ticket.
