EPL Best Bets for Week 17

Let’s just forget about our EPL Week 16 picks. The matches went in the exact opposite fashion and it’s not something we’d like to repeat this week. In short, everything that could’ve go wrong went wrong. However, we’re back with a clear mind and we’ll be jumping straight into the latest news and stats, hoping to find the best EPL bets for Week 17!

EPL Week 16 Results

Before we start dissecting the best EPL bets for Week 17, let’s focus on last week’s results:

• Bournemouth 1 – 1 West Ham
• Chelsea 2 – 1 Brentford
• Southampton 0 – 5 Tottenham
• Man City 1 – 2 Man Utd
• Brighton 1 – 3 Crystal Palace

Best EPL Week 17 Singles

Bet #1: Aston Villa vs. Man City: Both to Score and Over 2.5 Goals (-125)

I don’t know what to think about Manchester City anymore. I was certain they’re going to start their big comeback against their fiercest rivals Manchester United… but we all know how that turned out. Now, they’re up against Aston Villa and I’m not too sure they’ll manage against Emery’s well-oiled Villa machine.

But, it’s too risky to go with the Villa moneyline here. Instead, knowing how much both teams love to attack, I’m going with a goal-based combo. The first part – both teams to score. The second part – over 2.5 goals.

At the moment, Bovada offers this combo bet at -125. City is averaging 1.75 goals per game this season while Villa is at 1.5. Considering that, this one is likely to go down the wire and have 3+ goals, with at least one on each end.

At -125, it might not seem like the most valuable bet considering we have to nail down 2 factors. But, if one goes through, the second one will be (almost) in the bag too.

Bet #2: Fulham vs. Southampton: Fulham to Win (-240)

Fulham is having a phenomenal season. They’re currently in 8^th place with 24 points and haven’t lost any of their last 4 EPL matches. Granted, they only won 1 of them, but their form is in an upward spiral and they’ll be fancying their chances against Southampton.

As for Southampton, I just don’t know what else to say about them. They’re currently at -25 goals ratio, with just 11 scored goals in 16 matches. They’re out of the Carabao Cup too and their interim manager Simon Rusk has went through a proper baptism by fire.

I doubt the Saints will have much to say in their away clash with Fulham. The Londoners should win all three points here and, according to the bookies (-240), they should do so with ease.

Bet #3: Man Utd vs. Bournemouth: Man Utd to Win (-120)

Bournemouth is in fine form. In the last 4 EPL clashes, they won 3 and drew 1. As for Manchester United, you’ve probably heard about that comeback win against Man City last Sunday. But, the Red Devils are still in poor form despite that win.

Even with Ruben Amorim at the helm, they’re looking way too lethargic on and off the ball. They’re creating chances match in and match out, no doubts there, but they need that ruthlessness in front of goal if they are to beat Bournemouth.

Luckily, with Diallo in fine goalscoring form and Bruno Fernandes dictating the tempo (even Maguire was stellar against City), this United team could easily stroll to a win here. The home crowd at the Old Trafford will be an important wind in their sails and are likely to close this one off with 3 points in the bag.

Bet #4: Tottenham vs. Liverpool: Draw (+330)

Tottenham is set to go up against Liverpool right after they finally managed to play the perfect match. Granted, it was against Southampton, but that doesn’t take much away from Tottenham’s superb goalscoring routine.

As for Liverpool, they’re in a bit of a crisis, aren’t they? I mean, they haven’t lost a match, but they had back-to-back draws with Newcastle and Fulham which has shaken their big lead up a bit.

Now, Slot’s Liverpool are in no position to allow themselves more dropped points. Chelsea is up against Everton this week, a match they’re likely to win. If they do win and Liverpool draws with Tottenham, Chelsea will be at the top spot… though Liverpool will still have a match in hand.

And that’s exactly what I expect will happen here. I expect Tottenham to have the upper edge, but knowing how strong and compact Liverpool has been this season, everything but a draw would be a surprise here.

Best EPL Week 17 Parlay Bets

If you’re not a fan of singles, perhaps you’ll be interested in one of the two following EPL Matchday 17 parlays:

Parlay #1

• Brentford vs. Nottingham Forest: Both to Score (-165)
• Everton vs. Chelsea: Chelsea to Win (-160)
• Total Parlay: +161

The first line of our first parlay for today is Brentford vs. Nottingham Forest. Brentford is an absolute force to be reckoned with when playing asst home and Nottingham Forest is still keeping their European dreams alive… and while I don’t know which of these two will show up in better fashion, I am quite confident they’ll both mark their name in the goalscoring sheet.

The second part is a clean moneyline on Chelsea. The Blues are playing away from home against Everton… Everton that finally got some points on the table, but still aren’t showing much grit away from home. For that reason, I have to back Maresca’s Chelsea as they continue inching closer to top spot Liverpool.

Parlay #2

• Man Utd vs. Bournemouth: Man Utd to Win (-120)
• Fulham vs. Southampton: Fulham to Win (-240)
• Total Parlay: +160

The second parlay features 2 aforementioned singles. For starters, we have Amorim’s Manchester United who are coming off a fantastic late winner against their sworn rivals Manchester City. Now they’re up against in-form Bournemouth who won’t make things easy for them… but I expect the Red Devils to finally connect two wins together and inch closer to the top half of the table.

Fulham hasn’t lost any of their 4 EPL outings and they had quite the opponents too. Southampton have won just 5 points since the start of the season and surely they won’t get anything from an away match against 8^th place Fulham. These two lines provide a total return of +160, which isn’t half bad for 2 relatively simple moneylines.
