Fury vs. Usyk was arguably the biggest boxing match in the last 25 years. In the end, Usyk did just enough to earn the split decision victory and hand Fury the first loss of his career. Shortly after the fight, it was announced that the two living legends will square off again later this year.

This boxing betting guide will break down the early odds for Fury vs. Usyk 2. I will tell you everything we know so far about the rematch and give you my predictions for one of the most anticipated rematches in modern boxing history. Also, I will tell you how to bet on boxing online using the top sportsbooks.

When is Fury vs. Usyk 2?

The first Fury vs. Usyk match occurred on May 18th in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. After one of the closest title fights in recent memory, it is only natural for the two skilled boxers to face off once again. They will return to Saudi Arabia later this year for their rematch.

Fury vs. Usyk Results

Tyson Fury sat atop the boxing world for years. His 34-0-1 record was nearly unimpeachable, and a win over Usyk would cement Fury as arguably the best boxer of all time.

Usyk, on the other hand, brought a 21-0 record into the showdown with Usyk. The southpaw earned 14 knockouts in his career, and his power was the key to his eventual win over the formerly undefeated Fury.

All three judges awarded Usyk the first round. Fury largely dominated the next six rounds, though, and was leading on all three scorecards heading into the eighth round. That is when things started to fall apart for Fury.

Usyk unanimously won all eighth, ninth, and tenth rounds. To make matters worse for Fury, all three judges scored the ninth round 10-8 in favor of Usyk. A pivotal 11th round proved to be the difference, giving Usyk the deciding one-point advantage on Judge Mike Fitzgerald’s scorecard.

Fury vs. Usyk 2 Date

It was only a matter of time before Fury and Usyk rematched, especially with how close their first fight was. Luckily, fight fans do not need to wait too long to see these two modern icons of the sport go head-to-head again.

According to Saudi Arabian officials, Fury vs. Usyk 2 is scheduled for December 21st. A location for the fight has not been picked, but it will be part of the annual Riyadh Season in Saudi Arabia.

Which Belts Will Be on the Line in Fury vs. Usyk 2?

The first Usyk vs. Fury fight featured a record number of belts. Officials even created a new belt specifically for the historic fight.

This time around, though, slightly fewer belts could be on the line. Fury is the IBF champion, but he may be stripped of the belt for not defending against the mandatory challenger first. Even if Usyk loses the IBF belt, there will still be plenty of gold on the line in the rematch, including:

  • WBC heavyweight championship
  • WBA (Super) heavyweight champion
  • WBO heavyweight championship

Without the IBF belt. Though, Fury cannot claim status as the undisputed champion even if he beats Usyk. Of course, beating Usyk is easier said than done.

Fury vs. Usyk 2 Odds

  • Tyson Fury (+145)
  • Oleksandr Usyk (-175)

Fury was a slight favorite heading into his first fight with Usyk. After losing the first time around, though, Fury also lost his right to be called the betting favorite.

BetUS Sportsbook has Fury listed as the +145 underdog in the latest Fury vs. Usyk 2 odds. Usyk is a -175 favorite as he looks to add another loss to Fury’s career record. With how close the judges scored the first fight, you can make a case for either Fury or Usyk to win the rematch.

Tyson Fury (+145)

Tyson Fury’s rare combination of size, skill, and power earned him victories in 34 of his first 35 professional career fights. The lone blemish, prior to losing to Usyk, was a draw in his first fight with Deontay Wilder.

Fury has 24 knockout wins in his illustrious career. Despite the loss, Fury was able to do real damage to Usyk. He unanimously won four rounds of the fight and won another two rounds on at least two of the three judges’ scorecards.

There were also rumors that Fury broke Usyk’s jaw in the fight. Usyk’s jaw was intact, but Fury showed he still has the power to end a fight if given the chance.

Oleksandr Usyk (-175)

Usyk (22-0) was one round away from losing his undefeated record in his first fight with Fury. He was able to overcome the odds, though, handing Fury the first loss of his career.

One of the keys to Usyk’s victory was his ability to advantage of Fury’s showboating early one. Fury’s antics cost him the first round, giving Usyk a crucial early lead in the fight. Usyk’s 10-8 round in the ninth was also crucial to giving him just enough points to overcome Fury by decision.

The 10-8 round resulted from Usyk’s 14 unanswered punches landed against a wobbled Fury. He could not officially knock out Fury, but Usyk still did enough in the judges’ eyes to win. Repeating his performance will be challenging, but Usyk will have over six months to devise a new plan to defeat Fury.

Fury vs. Usyk 2 Prediction

Usyk claimed the title of undisputed heavyweight champion with his victory over Fury in May. He was able to capitalize on openings early and late in the fight to rake up points on the judges’ scorecards. Fury is unlikely to make the same mistakes in the rematch, though.

Despite his showboating early and seemingly being out on his feet in the second half, Fury still almost won the fight. He dominated much of the fight in rounds two through seven.

Fury has the more profitable odds, and I think he will be more focused this time around. With that in mind, I think Fury is the better betting option for his rematch with Usyk. No one has beaten Usyk, but if anyone can do it, it will be Fury.

Prediction: Tyson Fury defeats Oleksandr Usyk (+145)
