Preseason WNBA Rookie of the Year Odds
Caitlin Clark’s odds of winning Rookie of the Year are better than any other player this season. After a stellar college career, Clark has already started to bring new viewers to the WNBA before she has even played a game. Dozens of other rookies are looking to upset Clark for the title of Rookie of the Year, though.
Check out the table below for the latest WNBA Rookie of the Year odds, courtesy of BetUS Sportsbook.
Player | WNBA Odds | Team |
---|---|---|
Caitlin Clark | -800 | Indiana Fever |
Cameron Brink | +1200 | LA Sparks |
Kamilia Cardoso | +1400 | Chicago Sky |
Rickea Jackson | +2800 | LA Sparks |
Angel Reese | +3000 | Chicago Sky |
Aaliyah Edwards | +3000 | Washington Mystics |
Jacy Sheldon | +4500 | Dallas Wings |
Clark was the first overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft, and she is listed at -800 to win Rookie of the Year. The next closest player is Cameron Brink (+1200), who was drafted second overall by the LA Sparks. Kamilla Cardoso (+1400) and Rickea Jackson (+2800), the third and fourth overall picks, and the third and fourth-best odds, respectively.
Angel Reese and Aaliyah Edwards are tied for the fifth-best odds at +3000. Jacy Sheldon rounds out the top six at +4500. Eight players, including Alissa Pili and Carla Leite, are tied for the +5000 odds to win WNBA Rookie of the Year.
Caitlin Clark Rookie of the Year odds
Caitlin Clark was the driving force behind the recent women’s college basketball renaissance. She has made the jump to the WNBA after being drafted first overall by Indiana. It should come as no surprise that Caitlin Clark has the best odds to win the 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year award.

The Fever also had the first overall pick last year, selecting South Carolina’s Aliyah Boston. With Clark and Boston now playing together, Indiana should be able to take several steps forward this season.
Boston is the reigning Rookie of the Year, winning the award unanimously despite the team earning a 13-27 record. The teams should be better this year, and Clark will certainly have the attention of the media from day one. Assuming her game translates from college to the pros, Clark is a clear favorite to win the award.
Cameron Brink (+1200)
Former Standford Forward Cameron Brink has the best odds to upset Clark for Rookie of the Year. Brink was drafted to the LA Sparks and is listed at 12-1 to win Rookie of the Year in the current WNBA odds.
LA just missed the playoffs last season, finishing with the ninth-best record at 17-23. The Sparks were just a game behind the eighth-seeded Chicago Sky (18-22). If Brink can push LA into the playoffs, then she should at least receive some attention for Rookie of the Year.
However, Brink will have to battle for votes against one of her own teammates. LA also took SF Rickea Jackson in the first round. The two talented front-court players could vulture votes from one another.
Kamilla Cardoso (+1400)
South Carolina won the Women’s NCAA title again this season, in large part due to the play of Kamilla Cardoso. She scored 15 points in the title game against Iowa, the second-most of any player on South Carolina. Cardoso also won the Most Outstanding Player award for the 2024 season.
The talented Brazilian was rewarded for her excellent college career by being the third overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft. Cardoso will play for the Chicago Sky this season and is listed at +1400 to win Rookie of the Year.
Chicago is two seasons removed from its 2021 championship run. They squeaked into the playoffs last year at 18-22. If Cardoso can make the Sky a serious playoff contender again, then she could be a sleeper to win Rookie of the Year.
Rickea Jackson (+2800)
As I mentioned above, Rickea Jackson was the second top-four pick of the Sparks this year. Real money sportsbooks have Jackson listed at +2800 to win Rookie of the Year. She started 106 games over her five-year collegiate career, so Jackson should be ready to play when she gets her chance.

It is possible that Jackson and fellow rookie forward Cameron Brink both see significant playing time. Nneka Ogwumike led the team last year in points (19.1) and rebounds (8.8), but the talented forward now plays for Seattle.
Filling Ogwumike’s shoes will be easier said than done. The 2012 first-overall pick anchored the Sparks lineup for over a decade. With Ogwumike gone, though, Jackson has a better chance of seeing significant enough playing time to have a chance at Rookie of the Year.
Angel Reese (+3000)
Caitlin Clark is not the only easily recognizable figure making her WNBA debut this season. LSU’s Angel Reese has also made the jump to the pros. Reese is listed at +3000 to win Rookie of the Year, far behind Caitlin Clark’s odds.
Reese will join the aforementioned Cardoso in Chicago. Reese should see immediate playing time as a rookie. The Chicago’s best Forward last season, Alanna Smith, now plays in Minnesota. Smith led the team in rebounds, so Chicago needs Reese to step up early.
Reese averaged over 18 points and over 12 rebounds per game in college. She is only 6’3, though, and could struggle against taller forwards in the WNBA. Reese has exceeded expectations before, though, and should be a key piece in Chicago’s rebuild.
Aaliyah Edwards (+3000)
The other rookie listed at 30-1 in the current WNBA Rookie of the Year odds is Aaliyah Edwards. The former UConn standout was drafted just ahead of Reese at sixth overall.

Edwards will start her WNBA career with the Washington Mystics. As a rookie, she will be in a unique position trying to replace Tianna Hawkins, who is currently a WNBA free agent. The team leader is still Elena Delle Donne, also a forward, who averaged 16.7 points in her 23 games last season.
Delle Donne missed nearly half the season last year, but she should be back this year. If Edwards can fill Hawkins’ role, then the Mystics should be a true playoff contender. The veteran Delle Donne could overshadow Edwards in her rookie season, though.
Jacy Sheldon (+4500)
One of the few players whose WNBA Rookie of the Year odds do not match up with their draft position is Jacy Sheldon. The former Ohio State Point Guard was drafted fifth overall by the Dallas Wings.
Despite being a top-five pick, Sheldon has just the seventh-best WNBA betting odds for Rookie of the Year at +4500. She is coming off a 2023-2024 collegiate season where Sheldon was named to the following:
- Big Ten All-Defensive Team
- First-team All-Big Ten
- Second-team All-American (USBWA)
- Second-team All-American (AP)
Sheldon is also arguably going to the best situation of any other players in the top seven. Dallas finished fourth in the WNBA last season and was second only to the Las Vegas Aces in the West. If Sheldon can secure playing time and make an impact on one of the top WNBA teams, she should be a serious contender for Rookie of the Year.
WNBA Rookie of the Prediction

Clark is one of the most exciting basketball players in recent memory, even if her betting odds are not. I think Clark is a worthy favorite and would bet on her to take home Rookie of the Year this season. Her -800 odds will look like a bargain five months from now after her odds continue to shorten throughout the season.
