Week-16-NFL

Sunday’s Week 16 player props are full of games with playoff implications. Many of the matchups on the schedule for Sunday pit two potential playoff teams against one another. Betting on these games can help to make your holiday celebrations even more exciting.

NFL betting sites make it easy to wager on every game this weekend without missing a minute of your holiday plans. You can make player props on every game in Week 16.

Keep reading to see my picks and predictions for the best Week 16 player props. I will tell you which wagers to make and why these are the best bets to make your money this weekend.

How to Bet NFL Player Props for Week 16

Only six teams have been officially eliminated from playoff contentions. Of the remaining 26, only four have clinched a postseason spot. The other 22 are all fighting for their playoff spots.

Here are the Week 16 player prop bets that I would make for Week 16’s most anticipated matchups. Odds of these player props were provided by Bovada Sportsbook.

Indianapolis Colts: Gardner Minshew Over 1.5 Passing TDs (+165)

The Colts (8-6) currently hold the seventh seed in the AFC, meaning they have the third and final Wild Card spot. Indianapolis will take on Atlanta (6-8) this weekend. The Falcons are one-point favorites at home this weekend.

Atlanta needs to win to keep its slim NFC playoff hopes alive. The Colts also need a win to stay in the competitive playoff race in the AFC. I think this game will come down to the play of Colts’ QB Gardner Minshew.

Minshew has played well this season in relief of the injured Anthony Richardson. He has had six passing TDs in the last three games and 14 total passing TDs this season.

Bovada has Minshew listed at over/under 1.5 passing TDs for this matchup. He has multiple passing TDs in two of the last three games, and I think he can do it again this week against Atlanta.

Prediction:

Gardner Minshew over 1.5 passing TDs (+165)

Detroit Lions: Jahmyr Gibbs Over 73.5 Total Scrimmage Yards (-115)

Another matchup with major playoff implications is the Lions (10-4) vs. the Vikings (7-7). This is the first of two matchups between these NFC North teams this season. Both teams are currently in the playoffs and would play each other in the Wild Card round if the bracket holds.

The Lions are coming off a rough month of football. Despite its recent struggles, Detroit was able to silence a lot of critics with a dominant 42-17 victory over Denver last week.

If the Lions want to build on that momentum, then they need another strong game from rookie RB Jahmyr Gibbs. Football betting sites have the first-year RB listed at over/under 73.5 total rushing and receiving yards for this contest.

Gibbs has had at least 82 scrimmage yards in seven of the 12 games he has played this season. He also has hit that mark in all three games he has been the starter and in back-to-back weeks. I believe he can get at least 74 total yards and would take the over in this total scrimmage yards wager.

Prediction:

Jahmyr Gibbs Over 73.5 total scrimmage yards (-115)

Jacksonville Jaguars: Travis Etienne Anytime TD Scorer (-125)

Another division leader that is looking to cement its spot in the playoffs is Jacksonville. The Jaguars have lost three straight games and now have just a half-game lead on the Colts and Texans in the AFC South. If they lose this weekend, the Jags could be in danger of missing the playoffs.

Jacksonville takes on NFC South leader, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers  (7-7). The Bucs need to win to stay ahead of the Saints.

Part of Jacksonville’s struggles are due to QB Trevor Lawrence’s ankle injury. The Jags could take pressure off their QB with a run-heavy attack this weekend. RB Travis Etienne is listed at -125 to score a TD this weekend.

Tampa Bay has allowed 11 rushing TDs this season. Etienne has 10 total TDs this season and should have plenty of chances to score another touchdown in this game. I would take this Week 16 props wager for Etienne to score at least once this weekend.

Prediction:

Travis Etienne anytime TD scorer (-125)

Dallas Cowboys: Dak Prescott Over 1.5 Passing TDs (-170)

One of the marquee matchups of the weekend pits the AFC East division-leader Miami against the NFC East division-leading Dallas Cowboys. Both teams are 10-4 and need a win to maintain their hold on their respective divisions.

The Cowboys have extra motivation heading into this game, too. Buffalo embarrassed Dallas last week, beating the Cowboys 31-10 in Buffalo. Dallas is just 3-4 on the road but has a chance to get to .500 this weekend in Miami.

Sports betting sites have Cowboys’ QB Dak Prescott listed at over/under 1.5 passing TDs for this matchup. I believe that last week was a wake-up call for the Cowboys, and they will try to prove a point this weekend.

Miami’s defense has only allowed 17 passing TDs this season, tied for the eighth-fewest in the league. The Cowboys are far more talented than many of the teams the Dolphins have faced, though. I would take the over in this Week 16 props wager.

Prediction:

Dak Prescott over 1.5 passing TDs (-170)

Best SNF Player Props

This week’s Sunday Night Football matchup is being billed as the Holiday Classic. Denver (7-7) is set to take on New England (3-11) on Christmas Eve night. Here are the NFL player props I would target for this AFC prime-time matchup.

Denver Broncos: Russell Wilson Over 0.5 Interceptions (+145)

The Broncos are coming off their second-worst loss of the season. Denver lost 42-17 to Detroit last weekend. The loss knocked Denver down to the 11th seed in the AFC playoff race.

If the Broncos want to keep their post-season hopes alive, then they need a win this weekend. I think they can get it done, but the Patriots will not make it easy. The Patriots’ defense has been stingy this season, even if their offense has struggled.

Bovada has Broncos’ QB Russell Wilson listed at over/under 0.5 interceptions for this contest. New England has just nine interceptions this season, tied for the 10th fewest in the NFL.

The Patriots have interceptions in back-to-back games, though. I think that streak will continue this weekend, with Wilson throwing at least one interception in this contest.

Prediction:

Russell Wilson over 0.5 interceptions (+145)

New England Patriots: Ezekiel Elliott First-Half TD Scorer (+280)

The other half of this holiday classic on SNF is the Patriots. They are just 3-11 this season, and major changes are expected to happen this summer.

One of the fewer bright spots on the Patriots’ offense in recent weeks has been free agent signing RB Ezekiel Elliott. The veteran RB has 88 or more scrimmage yards in three of the Pats’ last five games. However, he has just three TDs on the season.

I think Elliott can have another big day against a Broncos’ defense that has been terrible against the run this season. Also, I think the Pats will try to lean on Elliott early and often in this game. With the state of their QB room, New England does not have a lot of choice but to go with a run-heavy attack.

Elliott is listed at +280 to score a TD in the first half of SNF. I think he can score his fourth TD of the season in this game. At +280 odds, I think betting on him scoring in the first half is worth the risk.

Prediction:

Ezekiel Elliott first-half TD scorer (+280)

Best Week 16 Player Props Parlay

The Week 16 player props above are all great options for betting on football games this Sunday. You can make your Christmas Eve even more exciting by creating a parlay wager front he bets above.

Bovada has a great parlay builder that makes it easy to combine wagers into one bet. Here is an example of a Week 16 props parlay that you can make for this weekend:

  • Gardner Minshew Over 1.5 Passing TDs (+165)
  • Dak Prescott Over 1.5 Passing TDs (-170)
  • Russell Wilson Over 0.5 Interceptions (+145)
  • Parlay odds: +931

This three-leg parlay focuses on three QBs who are hoping to keep their playoff hopes alive this weekend. Minshew II and Wilson need a win to stay in the postseason race. Prescott and Dallas have secured their playoff ticket, but they are fighting for seeding. The odds for this three-leg parlay are +931.
