The season openers are in the rearview mirror, and now is the best time to place your best bet for NFL Week 2. It is still early in the season, so no team is a bye this week. That means you can wager on any of the 32 teams, as they will all be in action this week.
This guide will break down my best NFL bets for Week 2 of the 2024-2025 season. I will share my favorite bets for this week at the top NFL betting sites and tell you which way you should bet this weekend.

Best NFL Week 2 Matchups
Week 2 kicks off with a thrilling AFC East matchup between the Bills and the Dolphins. Other exciting matchups this weekend include the Bengals vs. the Chiefs, Tampa Bay at Detroit, and the Falcons at The Eagles. Here are my NFL best bets for Week 2.
Buffalo Bills at Miami Dolphins
- Point spread: Miami Dolphins (-1.5)
- Moneyline: Miami Dolphins -125
- Total points: over/under 50.5 points
The Bills and the Dolphins overcame early double-digit deficits to start the year 1-0. Now, they will meet in Miami for the first of their two games this season. The winner will have an early lead in the AFC East race.
Bovada has Miami listed as the -1.5-point favorite at home on Thursday Night Football. I believe Miami will win, but the point spread does not offer enough of an increase in value to make it worth the risk. I recommend taking Miami’s moneyline instead.

Las Vegas Raiders at Baltimore Ravens
- Point spread: Baltimore Ravens (-9.5)
- Moneyline: Baltimore Ravens (-470)
- Total points: over/under 41.5 points
Next on my list of NFL Week 2 best bets is the game between Las Vegas and Baltimore. The Ravens are favored by 9.5 points at home in this matchup. Both teams are coming off disappointing losses in their season openers.
Baltimore should win this game, especially if they stick the run and keep Maxx Crosby away from Lamar Jackson. However, winning by double digits is a tough ask in the NFL. I would bet on the Raiders to cover 9.5 points instead at -105 odds.

Cincinnati Bengals at Kansas City Chiefs
- Point spread: Kansas City Chiefs (-5.5)
- Moneyline: Kansas City Chiefs (-250)
- Total points: over/under 48.0 points
One of the marquee matchups of Week 2 is Cincinnati vs. Kansas City. Secure sports betting sites list the Chiefs as 5.5-point favorites. The Bengals looked dreadful in Week 1, losing to the Patriots at home.
Cincinnati should be better this week, but I do not believe they can overcome the Chiefs. However, I also do not like the 5.5-point spread, which offers just -115 odds if the Kansas City covers. I suggest betting the Chiefs straight up at -250 instead.

Cleveland Browns at Jacksonville Jaguars
- Point spread: Jacksonville Jaguars (-3.5)
- Moneyline: Jacksonville Jaguars (-195)
- Total points: over/under 41.0 points
Next on my list of the best NFL Week 2 bets is a wager against the Jaguars point spread. Jacksonville takes on Cleveland this weekend at home and is a 3.5-point favorite. Cleveland has a great defense, though, and the Jaguars offense stalled in the second half of the team’s 20-17 loss to Miami.
Assuming Deshaun Watson can play better than he did in Week 1, Cleveland should be in this game until the end. I think the Browns’ defense forces Trevor Lawrence into multiple turnovers, and Cleveland covers the 3.5 points at -105 odds.

New Orleans Saints at Dallas Cowboys
- Point spread: Dallas Cowboys (-6.5)
- Moneyline: Dallas Cowboys (-285)
- Total points: over/under 45.5 points
Rounding out my list of the best NFL games to bet on in Week 2 is this NFC matchup between New Orleans and Dallas. Both of these teams were dominant in Week 1, but the Saints are 6.5-point underdogs on the road this weekend.
The Cowboys dominated the Browns on the scoreboard in the opener, but their offense was surprisingly unproductive. I think Dallas will pick up the win, but this game will be closer than expected, and New Orleans will cover.

Week 1 NFL Best Underdogs, Props, and Total Bets
In addition to underdogs covering this week, I believe some favorites will lose straight up. Bovada has excellent props and total wagers for this week, too. Here are the best underdogs, props, and total bets for NFL Week 2.
Los Angeles Rams (-105) vs. Arizona Cardinals
Arizona started hot against the Bills but lost a double-digit lead. LA also lost on the road and is on the road this week against the Cardinals.
The Cardinals are a 1.0-point favorite at home with -110 odds, and the Rams’ point spread is also listed at -110. A one-point spread does not offer enough value, and I would bet on the Rams (-105) straight up instead.
Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Denver Broncos Under 36.5 Points (-110)
The Steelers and the Broncos started new quarterbacks in Week 1 and had mixed results. Pittsburgh won on the road in Atlanta but did not score a touchdown.
Denver lost, but rookie Bo Nix showed flashes of his potential. Both offenses still have plenty of kinks to work out, and this should be a low-scoring affair.
Seattle Seahawks vs. New England Patriots (+145)
New England secured the biggest upset of the opening weekend, tanking thousands of people’s survivor leagues in the process. The Patriots have another shot at an upset this weekend, and they are 3.0-point favorites against Seattle.
Both offenses will struggle to move the ball, but New England should have the edge on defense. I think the Patriots (+145) will win this game outright and start 2-0.
New York Giants vs. Washington Commanders (-3.5) (+120)
The Giants had a disastrous first week of the season, and it could get worse this week as they travel to Washington. Bovada has the Commanders listed as 2.5-point favorites.
New York struggled to stop Minnesota’s rushing attack in Week 1. I think the Giants will struggle even more to stop rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels. Bovada has an alternate point spread prop for the Commanders to win by 3.5 at +120, which I believe is worth betting on this weekend.
