Best Bets for the 2024 CFB National Championship: Washington vs. Michigan
CFB prop bets for the upcoming National Championship game are a great way to bet on the final game of the college football season. You can also make other types of wagers, such as parlays or betting on the point spread.
Knowing where to bet on college football will help you find the perfect wagers for you. The championship game is also a great time to make new types of wagers. After all, this is your last chance to bet on college football games that matter until August.
Keep reading to see the best CFB player prop bets for Monday’s championship game between Washington and Michigan. I will break down my favorite bets and tell you why they are worth your time and money.
Best Bets for Washington vs. Michigan
Michigan and Washington entered the CFP as first and second-ranked teams in the country, respectively. Both won their CFP semi-final games and now they will square off for the National Championship. Here are my favorite bets for the 2024 National Championship, with CFP odds courtesy of Bovada Sportsbook.
Point Spread: Washington (+4) (-105)
Starting off my list of the best bets for Monday’s National Championship game is this wager on Washington’s point spread. The Huskies are four-point underdogs in this game against the Wolverines.
Washington is no stranger to being the underdog in big matchups. The Huskies were underdogs heading into their Pac-12 Championship matchup with Oregon. Washington was also the underdog in last week’s game against Texas.
The Huskies won both of those games, and they will have to overcome the odds again to win on Monday. I think this game will be a close one, and you cannot count out a team with an offense like Washington. So, I would take the Huskies to at least cover the spread against the Wolverines.
Washington (+4) (-105)
Blake Corum Anytime TD Scorer (-305)
If the Huskies want to pull off the upset, then they need to find an answer for Blake Corum. The senior RB has scored 26 total TDs this season, including 25 on the ground. He has been virtually unstoppable in the red zone this year.
This is a legendary run from Blake Corum. Will go down as one of the best plays in Michigan Football history! He came back to cement himself as a legend at Michigan and he did just that!

Football betting sites have Corum listed at -305 to score at least one TD in Monday’s CFP National Championship game. Corum has scored at least once in all of Michigan’s 14 games this season. I think, barring injury, Corum is a lock to keep that streak going on Monday.
Washington allowed three rushing TDs in their win over Texas on New Year’s Day. CJ Baxter, Jaydon Blue, and Byron Murphy II all ran for TD in the Longhorns’ loss.
Michigan also has one of the best offensive lines in college football. Washington has the 41st-ranked rush defense and has allowed 21 total rushing TDs this year. I think Corum will score at least once in Monday’s game.
Blake Corum anytime TD scorer (-305)
Blake Corum 80+ Rushing Yards and 1+ TDs (-165)
There is no denying Corum’s rushing ability in the red zone. However, he has not been great between the 20s this season. Corum is averaging just 79.37 rushing yards per game this year.
Sports betting sites have a ton of special parlay wagers that involve Corum. The one that I like the most is for Corum to have at least one TD and 80 or more rushing yards. As I mentioned above, Corum is a heavy favorite to score a touchdown in this championship game.
Corum is also listed at over/under 105.5 total rushing yards for this matchup. I would not feel confident betting on Corum to reach triple digits in this game. However, I do think that he gets his average and reaches at least 80 rushing yards.
This special bet is essentially a two-leg same-game parlay. Corum will need to get at least one TD and 80 or more rushing yards for this bet to hit. I think he can do it and recommend taking this special bet.
Blake Corum has 80+ rushing yards and 1+ TDs (-165)
Michael Penix Jr. 2+ Passing TDs (-165)
Michael Penix Jr. was the runner-up in the Heisman Trophy race this season. The sixth-year QB has racked up career-highs in passing yards (4,648 yards), passing TDs (35), and yards per attempt (9.2 Y/A).

Penix will need to have the best game of his college career if he wants to lead the Huskies to a win in the national title game. Bovada has Penix listed at -165 to throw for two or more touchdowns on Monday.
He is also listed at over/under 1.5 passing TDs. However, the over is only listed at -190, so betting on him to have 2+ passing touchdowns is the better option. You are wagering on the same outcome, but you are getting slightly better payout odds.
Penix has at least two passing TDs in 11 of his 14 games this season. He has also hit that mark in six of the Huskies’ last seven games. I think he will hit that mark again in this game, especially if RB Dillon Johnson is limited.
Michael Penix Jr. 2+ passing TDs (-165)
Polk, McMillan, and Odunze Combine for 200+ Yards and 2+ TDs (+145)
As I mentioned above, Bovada has a ton of special CFB prop bets available for Monday’s championship game. One of my favorites is this bet involving Washinton’s top three wide receivers.

For this wager to win, you would need Ja’Lynn Polk, Jalen McMillan, and Rome Odunze to combine for the following:
- 200+ receiving yards
- 2+ TDs
The payout odds for this wager are listed at +145. Like a parlay wager, both parts of this bet must hit for you to win. However, rather than betting on individual totals for all three players, you are wagering on their combined totals. In theory, one receiver could hit both parts of this wager, and you would still win.
Washington’s trio combined for 305 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns against Texas. Michigan’s defense will be tougher to rack up yards against. However, I still think that Polk, McMillan, and Odunze can combine for at least 200 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Polk, McMillan, and Odunze combine for 200+ yards and 2+ TDs (+145)
Michael Penix Jr. vs. J.J. McCarthy Total Passing TDs
- J. McCarthy (+147)
- Michael Penix Jr. (-218)
Bovada also has great head-to-head college football props for the 2024 National Championship. For these wagers, you pick the player that you think will have a better total in the given category.
One of the head-to-head wagers that I like the most is the Penix vs. J.J. McCarthy total passing TDs prop. Penix is listed as a -218 favorite in this special wager. McCarthy had three passing TDs against Alabama, tied for the second-most he has had in a single game this season.
Penix, on the other hand, has six games this season of three or more passing TDs this year. However, he has not had more than two passing TDs in the same game since October.
Despite his recent streak, I do think that Penix will have more passing TDs than McCarthy on Monday. Washington’s weakness on defense is their run defense, and the Wolverines are built to run the ball. I think Michigan will use a run-heavy attack, which will limit McCarthy’s chances of throwing for a touchdown.
Michael Penix Jr. has more passing TDs than J.J. McCarthy (-218)
Roman Wilson vs. Ja’Lynn Polk Total Receiving Yards
- Roman Wilson (+102)
- Ja’Lynn Polk (-157)
Another head-to-head CFB props bet that I like for the National Championship game is this bet between Roman Wilson and Ja’Lynn Polk. Wilson has been Michigan’s top WR option this season. However, Polk is the one favored to have more receiving yards in Monday’s game.
Michigan WR Roman Wilson this season:
〽️ 63 Targets
〽️ 1 Drop pic.twitter.com/PHaKQggSK6— PFF College (@PFF_College) January 4, 2024
Wilson has 735 receiving yards this season, the most of any player on the Wolverines this season. Polk has 1,122 receiving yards, which is the second-most on the Huskies. Rome Odunze leads the team with 1,553 receiving yards this season.
Polk had 122 receiving yards against Texas, his most since the start of November. He has lost targets to Jalen McMillan in recent games.
Wilson racked up 73 receiving yards, his most since he had 143 yards against Purdue at the start of November. I think the combination of Michigan’s stout defense and the competition for catches will limit Polk’s receiving yards. So, I would take Wilson in this head-to-head CFB player prop bet.
