US Open Men’s Favorites

Despite being the top-ranked male tennis player in the latest ATP rankings, Jannik Sinner is not the favorite to win the 2024 US Open. Sinner (+225) is behind Carlos Alcaraz (+150) and Novak Djokovic (+220) in the latest tennis US Open odds at BetOnline.

Carlos Alcaraz (+150)

Carlos Alcaraz is coming off a silver medal performance in the 2024 Olympics and is currently ranked third in the ATP. BetOnline has Alcaraz listed as the +150 favorite in the current tennis betting odds for the US Open. In his career, he has won 75% of his matches on hard courts, his second-lowest winning percentage of any court type.

Alcaraz has won the US Open once so far in his young career, defeating Casper Ruud in the Finals in 2022. Alcaraz has played well in major events this season, winning both the French Open and Wimbledon so far in 2024.

Novak Djokovic (+220)

Novak Djokovic is the reigning US Open Champion. He is currently ranked second in the ATP and is listed at +220 to repeat as the champion this year. Djokovic defeated Alcaraz in the gold medal game in Paris earlier this month.

Despite his dominance on most other hard courts, Djokovic has not been as successful in US Open events in the past. His title last year was his first US Open win since 2018. His four titles at the event pale in comparison to his record at Wimbledon (7 titles) and the Australian Open (10 titles).

Jannik Sinner (+225)

The current world number one in the ATP, Jannik Sinner, was eliminated in the fourth round at the 2023 US Open. Sinner is listed at +225 to win the first US Open and second major title of his career. He won his first major event title at the Australian Open earlier this year.

Sinner is a rising talent in the sport, but the US Open has been the worst major event of his young career. He has won just 67% of his matches in this tournament, and it is the only major where his winning percentage is below 76%.

Daniil Medvedev +800

Daniil Medvedev is a distant fourth in the latest US Open tennis odds at +800. It is hard to coin Medvedev out, though, as he made it to finals at this event last year. Medvedev defeated Alcaraz, this year’s favorite, to make it to the finals last year.

The US Open is also the only major title that Medvedev has won in his career, claiming his first title in 2021. He defeated Djokovic that year, but that was his only win so far against the Serbian in their three finals matches. Likewise, Medvedev is just 2-5 against Alcaraz in his career so far.

2024 US Open Women’s Odds

The women’s bracket also features tons of exciting betting odds. Here are the top 15 favorites in the latest US Open odds tennis at BetOnline.

Player2024 US Open OddsCurrent WTA Rank2023 US Open Finish
Iga Swiatek+31014th round
Aryna Sabalenka+4503Final

Barbora Krejcikova+250091st round
Danielle Collins+2500102nd round
Maria Sakkari+280081st round
Karolina Muchova+280035Semifinals

Belinda Bencic and Veronika Kudermetova are also tied for the 14th-best odds at 28-1.

US Open Women’s Favorites

The race at the top of the women’s US Tennis Open odds is much tighter, with the top five competitors all listed at +650 odds or shorter. Iga Swiatek is the betting favorite at +310. Aryna Sabalenka (+450) and Coco Gauff (+550) are a close second and third, respectively.

Iga Swiatek (+310)

Iga Swiatek has been the number-one ranked player in WTA for over two years. In that time, Swiatek has won four major titles, including the 2022 US Open. Her other three majors have come in three consecutive wins at the French Open.

Swiatek lost in the fourth round at the US Open last year to the eventual champion Coco Gauff. It was the first time that Gauff had defeated Swiatek in their 12 matches. Swiatek has played well at the US Open in the past, winning 80% of her matches in the tournament.

Aryna Sabalenka (+450)

The player with the best odds to upset Swiatek this year is Aryna Sabalenka. She is currently ranked third in the WTA and listed at +450 to win the tournament this year. Sabalenka made it to the finals of the US Open in 2023 but lost to Gauff.

She has won the Australian Open in back-to-back years, but her second-place finish in the 2023 US Open is the closest she has come to winning a different major. Sabalenka has not broken through yet, but her success on the hard courts in the Australian Open makes it hard to bet against Sabalenka in in the US Open.

Coco Gauff (+550)

The reigning women’s US Open champion Coco Gauff is listed at +550 to win the tournament again this year. Gauff is currently ranked second in the WTA and is seeking the second singles major win of her young career.

The US Open has been the second-best event for Gauff in her career. She has won 78% of her matches, second only to her 80% winning percentage at the French Open.

Naomi Osaka (+600)

Rounding out the top four is Naomi Osaka, who returned to competition this season after missing all of the 2023. She has four major wins in her career, including two US Open titles. She is listed at +600 to win the event this year.

The US Open’s hard courts have been kind to Osaka. She has an 81% winning percentage in the tournament, the best of any major in her career. However, she has not made it past the third round in her two appearances since winning the tournament in 2020.

Whose 2024 US Open Odds Should You Bet On?

The final major of the 2024 season is just weeks away, and you can get in on all the action with the latest US Open tennis odds. Check out the tables above for the latest men’s and women’s odds. Here are my 2024 US Open betting predictions:

  • Men’s outright winner: Jannik Sinner (+225)
  • Women’s outright winner: Naomi Osaka (+600)

Sinner won his first major at the Australian Open this spring, and I think he will have similar success on the hard courts of the US Open. Osaka, on the other hand, has struggled in majors since returning to action, but I think she can put that behind her and win her first major since 2021.
