2024 Sports Emmy Odds
The annual Sports Emmys highlights the best shows, documentaries, and analysts that cover the world of American sports. Check out the current betting odds for this event, with odds courtesy of BetOnline Sportsbook.
Best Documentary Series
- Formula 1: Drive to Survive (-160)
- Football Must Go On (+300)
- Quarterback (+320)
- Hard Knocks: Training Camp with The New York Jets (+1200)
- Monster Factory (+1200)
Sports fans have been blessed in recent years with a high number of quality sports documentary series. Major streaming platforms, including Netflix and Amazon Prime, have dipped their toes in the sports documentary series pool.
Formula 1: Drive to Survive (-160), from the aforementioned Netflix, is favored to win Best Documentary Series at this year’s Sports Emmys. The series gives fans a behind-the-scenes look at one of the fastest-growing sports, Formula 1 racing.
Other top contenders for this award include Football Must Go On (+300) and Quarterback (+320). Hard Knocks: Training Camp with The New York Jets and Monster Factory are tied for the fourth-best odds at +1200.
Three of the five nominees are football-related, but I believe that Formula 1 is taking home this award. The show has won this category once before, and this is the third time it has been nominated.
Best Event Analyst
- Greg Olsen (+150)
- Cris Collinsworth (+260)
- Bill Raftery (+550)
- Troy Aikman (+550)
- John Smoltz (+650)
- Tom Verducci (+650)
Another popular category at the annual Emmy Awards for sports is the award for the Best Event Analyst. Like many other categories, most of the top nominees are from the world of football. Greg Olsen (+150) and Cris Collinsworth (+260) have the best and second-best odds, respectively.

Troy Aikman, another football analyst, is tied for the third-best odds at +550. Bill Raftery, one of the top college basketball analysts, is also listed at +550 odds. John Smoltz (+650) and Tom Verducci (+650), both baseball analysts, round out the other nominees in this category.
Collinsworth has been a staple of the Sports Emmys for years. He is tied with the legendary John Madden for the second-most wins all-time at 16. The only person with more is Bob Costas with 28.
Olsen, on the other hand, is relatively new in his career as an NFL color commentator. He has been thrust into the spotlight, though, including covering Super Bowl 57. I think Olsen will win this category, beating out familiar faces like Collinsworth and Raftery.
Best Live Special
- Super Bowl 58 (CBS) (-140)
- The Masters (CBS) (+300)
- The 119th World Series (FOX) (+500)
- The 105th PGA Championship (CBS) (+700)
- Super Bowl 58 (Nickelodeon) (+700)
Up next is the Best Live Special, which features three CBS broadcasts among the top five nominees. Super Bowl 58 (-140) is the favorite, but CBS also has The Masters (+300) and The 105th PGA Championship (+700) among the nominees.
The other NFL-related nominee is also Super Bowl 58, but it is the special Nickelodeon broadcast. BetOnline has the kid-friendly Nickelodeon broadcast listed at 7-1, making it tied with the PGA Championship for the fourth-best odds.
FOX also has one event nominated, the 105th World Series (+500). It is the only event in the top five that is not football or golf-related.
The Super Bowl has two broadcasts nominated, but I think this could work against the Big Game. Having two broadcasts nominated could split the vote on the Super Bowl. With that in mind, I would pick The Masters (+300) to pull off the upset in this category.
Best Live Series
- Manningcast (-140)
- Sunday Night Football (+350)
- Monday Night Football (+420)
- FOX CFB (+700)
- FOX NFL (+700)
As I mentioned above, football dominates many of the top categories at the 2024 Sports Emmys. The Best Live Series category is no exception, with all five of the top nominees being football-related.
Secure betting sites have the Manningcast (-140) as the favorite in this category. The show features brothers and NFL royalty, Peyton and Eli Manning. Peyton and Eli provide their inside on the Monday Night Football game and have tons of special guests every week.

The regular MNF broadcast has the third-best odds at +420. It is behind Sunday Night Football, which is listed at +350 in the latest Sports Emmy betting odds. Both the MNF broadcast and the Manningcast are from ESPN, while the SNF broadcast is from NBC.
Two FOX football broadcasts, FOX CFB and FOX NFL, are tied for the fourth-best odds at +700. FOX CFB is the only college football broadcast listed in the top five.
I am picking the favorite again in this category and siding with the Manningcast (-140). The show is also the favorite for the George Wensel Award and has been a great addition to the weekly NFL schedule.
Best Long Documentary
- Kelce (-200)
- The Deepest Breath (+225)
- Full Circle (+1000)
- Stand (+1000)
- The Saint of Second Chances (+1000)
You can also wager on the Best Long Documentary category at this year’s Sports Emmy Awards. Kelce has the shortest odds to win this category at -200. The documentary gives a behind-the-scenes look at Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce during the 2022-2023 season.
The Deepest Breath, a documentary about free diving, has the next-best odds at +225. It is the only nominee within reach of Kelce. The other three nominees, Full Circle, Stand, and The Saint of Second Chances, are all tied for the third-best odds at +1000.
Jason and Travis Kelce, also known as Taylor Swift’s boyfriend, have dominated sports headlines over the last two years. The popularity of Jason only increased after the documentary was released. He recently retired, and I think he will start his post-NFL career with a Sports Emmy win.
Best Sideline Reporter
- Holly Rowe (+100)
- Tom Rinaldi (+280)
- Tracy Wolfson (+380)
- Erin Andrews (+600)
- Kaylee Hartung (+600)
Another popular category at the Sports Emmys is the award for the Best Sideline Reporter. BetOnline has basketball reporter Holly Rowe listed as the even-money favorite. Tom Rinaldi (+280) and Tracy Wolfson (+380) round out the top three.
Erin Andrews and Kaylee Hartung are tied for the fourth-best odds at +600 odds. All of the reporters nominated are worthy of winning, but I believe it will be Tracy Wolfson who claims the Best Sideline Reporter this year.
Wolfson is the lead sideline reporter for CBS, covering NFL games. She has covered five Super Bowls, including Super Bowl 58. Football and CBS productions are favored in many other categories, so I believe Wolfson is a steal at +380.
Best Studio Analyst
- Mina Kimes (+130)
- Charles Barkley (+220)
- Ryan Clark (+380)
- Nate Burleson (+520)
- Kirk Herbstreit (+650)
You can also wager the Best Studio Analyst award. Four of the top five analysts in this category cut their teeth in football. Mina Kimes, an analyst for NFL Live and a senior writer at ESPN, is the favorite at +130.

Other football analysts nominated in this category include Ryan Clark (+380), Nate Burleson (+520), and Kirk Herbstreit. The only analyst in the top five not nominated for their football knowledge is NBA Hall of Famer Charles Barkley (+220).
Barkley has won four Sports Emmys for his work covering the NBA for TNT, but Kimes is the favorite for a reason. She is one of the fastest-rising stars among NFL talk shows, and I believe she will win this award.
George Wensel Award Winner
- Manningcast (+140)
- Toy Story Funday Football (+200)
- The Masters (+360)
- Thursday Night Football (+550)
- MLB Home Run Derby 2023 (+650)
Last but not least, BetOnline also has odds on the 2024 George Wensel Award winner. The Manningcast (+140) is the favorite for this award.
However, this award is supposed to recognize achievements in technical excellence. With that in mind, I think the Toy Story Funday Football (+200) broadcast is the better bet. Turning an entire live football game into an homage to Toy Story with minimal delay is no easy feat.
