2025 World Series Odds – Early Favorites & Best Bets
It’s been a long winter but spring is finally in the air and that means it’s time to dig into some 2025 MLB odds ahead of the new season.
There was plenty of player movement throughout the offseason, highlighted by Juan Soto signing a record-breaking deal with the New York Mets as well as the Arizona Diamondbacks picking up a new ace in Corbin Burnes among several other notable transactions.
But even with all the change around the MLB, there is one constant – the reigning champion Los Angeles Dodgers maintain the best odds to win the 2025 World Series.
With core players like Shohei Ohtani, Mookie Betts, and Freddie Freeman still in the fold, the Dodgers only got better this offseason by adding to their starting rotation with Japanese star Roki Sasaki as well as Blake Snell. Unsurprisingly, Los Angeles comes in at +250 to repeat as World Series champs and -600 to win the National League West.
The Dodgers are followed by the New York Yankees and Atlanta Braves, who both sit at +850 to end the season as MLB champions, with the Pinstripes having by far the best odds of any team in the American League.
Let’s dig deeper into the 2025 World Series odds ahead of Opening Day.
Full 2025 World Series Odds – Every Team’s Opening Lines
As mentioned, the Dodgers sit well above the rest of the MLB in terms of odds to win the 2025 World Series while the Yankees and Braves follow not too far behind.
The Philadelphia Phillies and New York Mets occupy the next tier of 2025 MLB odds for the World Series, while the Miami Marlins, Colorado Rockies, and Chicago White Sox have the longest odds to be crowned champions.

Top Contenders for the 2025 World Series
Los Angeles Dodgers (+250)
The Los Angeles Dodgers won the 2024 World Series, claiming their second championship in five years, and are positioned to potentially go back-to-back this year at +110 according to 2025 MLB World Series odds.
Not only did Los Angeles maintain its core but the Dodgers somehow got even better this offseason by adding impressive arms to their rotation. The club signed two-time Cy Young winner Blake Snell and also pried prized prospect Roki Sasaki out of Japan.
If that wasn’t enough, the Dodgers are also expecting two-way star Shohei Ohtani to make his return to the mound in 2025. The three-time MVP did not pitch at all in 2024 as he recovered from Tommy John surgery but could throw as soon as May according to manager Dave Roberts.
Regardless of when Ohtani ends up returning to the rotation, he’ll be back at 100 percent by the postseason, which only strengthens a Dodgers team that was already pretty much unbeatable without their two-way man on the mound.
The National League West is pretty much for the taking as the Dodgers sit at -600 to win the division, ahead of the second-ranked Arizona Diamondbacks at +650.
The Diamondbacks narrowly missed the postseason in 2024 but undoubtedly improved this offseason by adding an ace to their rotation in Corbin Burnes, as well as a heavy-hitting first baseman in Josh Naylor.
Arizona was bit by the injury bug last year with 1,299 combined days missed due to injury so the D-Backs definitely had an excuse for underperforming, but even their impactful offseason additions won’t help them keep pace with the star-studded Dodgers.
New York Yankees (+850)
The New York Yankees had a major glow-up in 2024 as they qualified for the World Series for the first time since 2009 before losing to the Dodgers in the Fall Classic. The Pinstripes are still getting plenty of respect heading into this season as they come in at +850 to win it all according to 2025 MLB World Series odds.
The Yankees lost a key offensive piece to their crosstown rivals, the New York Mets, as Juan Soto opted to switch sides in the offseason, while Gleyber Torres and a few others also departed, leaving several gaps to fill in 2025. New York also got some terrible news earlier this month as ace Gerrit Cole underwent season-ending Tommy John surgery.
The reigning American League champs addressed some of those holes by bringing in Cody Bellinger, who pencils in as a starting outfielder, as well as Paul Goldschmidt, who still brings some power to first base at age 37. Additionally, New York brought in starter Max Fried, who should step in as the team’s new ace.
Will those additions be enough to get the Yankees over the hump, though, considering those key departures? Probably not. According to FanGraph’s projected WAR model, New York was projected to lose about seven wins this season – and that was before Cole was ruled out for the year.
The Pinstripes are still considered favorites to win the American League East at +160, ahead of both the Boston Red Sox (+260) and Baltimore Orioles (+275), though I’m not convinced they did enough to fill the holes left by both Soto and Cole.
A successful season in New York will depend on another MVP-level performance from Aaron Judge as well as good showings from each of their free-agent additions, but ultimately those two big losses may be too much to overcome.
Atlanta Braves (+850)
The Atlanta Braves are a bit of a surprising pick at +850 odds to win the 2025 World Series given that the team squeaked into last year’s postseason before being ousted in the National League Wild Card series.
Atlanta was also pretty quiet this offseason as they traded away Jorge Soler and declined options for Luke Jackson as well as Travis d’Arnaud. The Braves’ single splash came in the form of free agent acquisition Jurickson Profar, who pencils in as a big bat atop the lineup.
If there was one excuse for the Braves’ disappointing postseason – and one reason to be high on the team in 2025 – it was last year’s unfortunate injuries. Ronald Acuna Jr. and Spencer Strider missed most of last season while 2024 Cy Young winner Chris Sale missed the end of the year as well as the playoffs.
With both Sale and Strider set to return on Opening Day, the Braves should have one of the strongest rotations and perhaps the best 1-2 punch in baseball. Atlanta will be a bit more cautious with Acuna Jr., who has now had ACL surgery on both knees, and he likely won’t make an MLB appearance until at least May. That said, if all three players hit their stride in 2025, there is reason to be optimistic about the Braves.
Atlanta opened at +120 to win the National League East, slightly ahead of the Philadelphia Phillies (+200) and New York Mets (+210). The division pretty much came down to the wire last season with the Phillies taking the title and will likely be up in the air again.
Final Prediction – Who Will Win the 2025 World Series?
It’s hard not to be high on the Los Angeles Dodgers as they’ve got the best odds to win the 2025 World Series for good reason. The club boasts a star-studded offense and starting rotation with three-time NL MVP Shohei Ohtani slated to return as a two-way player.
However, no team has gone back-to-back since the New York Yankees won three straight titles from 1998 to 2000, so history would suggest that there could be a surprise in the cards.
If we’re looking beyond the top few teams for 2025 World Series odds, I’ve got to shout out the New York Mets at +1100. With Juan Soto in the fold, the Mets have the third-highest position player value in the MLB according to FanGraphs and also made a shrewd acquisition in Clay Holmes, who improves an already deep six-man rotation.
Don’t forget, the Mets took the Dodgers to six games in the NLCS – they could certainly make some noise again this year if Soto pops off and the rotation comes together.
Regardless of which team you’re backing for the 2025 World Series, it’s always a good idea to lock in early before Opening Day. The Dodgers line has already moved from +350 in January to +250 in March and odds will likely continue to change as teams get hot or cold.
