Now that you’ve seen our list of the top Caribbean Stud Poker casinos, it’s time to explain how we evaluate them. You can read more about how we rank gambling sites here, but below are some criteria specific to sites offering Caribbean Stud poker.
Reasonable Betting Limits
Whether you’re a high roller or a player on a budget, we make sure the Caribbean Stud poker sites we recommend offer betting limits to suit. It’s usually $1 -$100, but some sites accept wagers of up to $500.
High-Quality Software
We’ve seen some atrocious RNG poker games in our time, so we always check that each casino we recommend with CSP uses a high-quality software provider to service their games. Nucleus, BetSoft, and RTG are all exceptional developers.

We ensure you can play Caribbean Stud on both mobile and desktop sites with no download required. Some sites offer apps, but you’ll always be able to log in and play directly through your browser.
Caribbean Stud Poker Rules
Caribbean Stud has rules similar to those of five-card stud poker. However, it’s played against the house rather than other players (as in Texas’ Holdem). Memorize the Caribbean Stud poker rules below.
- Initial Bets – Before any cards are dealt, you need to make the Ante bet. You’ll also have the opportunity to make the progressive jackpot side bet.
- Cards – Both you and the dealer will receive five cards each. These are dealt face down, but the dealer will turn one of her cards face up.
- Playing the Hand – After seeing both your cards and the dealers’ up card, you must decide to either raise or fold. If you fold, you’ll lose both your initial bets. If you raise, you must make a second bet worth double your original Ante.
- Dealer’s Hand – After you’ve made your decision, the dealer will reveal her other four cards. She needs an Ace-King to qualify.
- Outcome – If the dealer fails to qualify, you’re paid even money on the Ante bet. If she qualifies and your hand is higher, you’ll win even more money on your Ante bet, and the raise will be paid according to the paytable. This could be as much as 100:1 for a Royal Flush. However, if the dealer’s hand is higher, you will lose both your Ante and raise bets.
- Progressive Jackpot – If you made the optional progressive jackpot side bet, you’ll be paid it for a Flush or higher. How much you get depends on the casino’s rules.
Caribbean Stud Poker Strategy
Since there are no opportunities to draw or change cards in Caribbean Stud, your strategy is about whether and when to raise or fold based on the strength of the player’s hand and the dealer’s visible card.
Generally, you should raise on a pair or better and fold with anything less than an Ace-King high.
If you have an Ace-King high, what you do next should depend on what the dealer has, as follows:
- If the dealer’s card is an Ace or a King, only raise if you have a Queen or a Jack in your hand, as this slightly improves your odds against the dealer’s probable hand.
- If the dealer’s card matches any of yours, raise if you have a Queen or a Jack, as this reduces the likelihood of the dealer having a pair.
If your hand includes an Ace and a King, and the dealer’s up card is Queen or lower, raise. Should the dealer manage to qualify, your Ace-King will likely outrank theirs.
Please Gamble Responsibly
Unlike some types of poker, you won’t need to bluff or try to read anything in this game since you’re playing against the house. All decisions should be strictly based on math and probability. Please Gamble Responsibly
Playing Caribbean Stud online should always be fun. Doing so is not a reliable way to make money or solve financial problems. If you or a loved one is suffering from problem gambling, please reach out and get help via the links below.
Texas Hold’em Online SummaryCaribbean Stud Poker Online Summary
Caribbean Stud Poker is a 5-card draw variant of poker, and is pretty popular with online and in-person gamblers. The game is fairly fast-paced, and requires critical thinking skills to master.
Thankfully, you can start playing Caribbean Stud online for free at Las Atlantis, or you can hop right in to play for real money at any of our recommended sites.
Given all we have covered, I recommend starting with the $5,000 welcome bonus at Wild Casino. The BetSoft Caribbean Stud Poker game is great on desktop or mobile, and pretty flexible when it comes to betting limits.
