Super Bowl 58 Octopus Betting Odds

Last year, Jalen Hurts scored an octopus in Super Bowl 57 for the Philadelphia Eagles. Hurts and the Eagles could not get back to the Big Game this year, but could we still see an octopus this year?

Super Bowl betting sites off odds on an octopus every year. Given the number of talented offensive stars in this year’s Big Game, it is not out of the question that someone could score a TD and the two-point conversion.

Continue reading to see the latest betting odds for an octopus in Super Bowl 58. I will break down the odds and tell you which players have the best chance to pull off this feat. The odds for these wagers were provided courtesy of BetUS Sportsbook.

Octopus Super Bowl Odds 2024

So, what is an Octopus bet in the Super Bowl? This rare play involves a platters scoring a TD and the two-point conversion on the same drive.

A scoring octopus is an uncommon sight in the NFL, but we did see several of them this past regular season. For instance, Seahawks’ WR Tyler Lockett and Jets’ RB Breece Hall both pulled off this feat in Week 18 this season.

BetUS has the odds of an octopus occurring in Super Bowl 58 listed at +600. Any octopus scored by either team would count toward this bet. This betting site also has the odds of a successful two-point conversion listed at +300.

Given the level of offensive talent in this game, it would not surprise me to see an octopus in back-to-back Super Bowls. The number of offensive weapons, especially on the 49ers, could make it difficult for a player to find the endzone on back-to-back plays. However, I still think the +600 payout odds are enticing enough to place at least a half-stake wager on this prop bet.

Will There Be an Octopus in Super Bowl 58?

You do not need to bet on a specific player to score the octopus in order to take advantage of this betting market. However, it can be helpful to have a few players in mind who could score the octopus before you bet on it. Here are some of the top options to score in Super Bowl 58 and set up potential octopus situations.

Christian McCaffrey (-250)

BetUS has Christian McCaffrey listed at -250 to score a TD in his first Super Bowl appearance. He has the shortest odds of any player in the current anytime TD scorer market. The talented RB is a great red zone option on the ground and through the air.

McCaffrey has scored 25 total TDs since the start of the season, including four so far in the playoffs. So, I have no doubt that he will find a way to score at least once on Super Bowl Sunday.

The bigger question is if CMC can score the two-point conversion after scoring the TD. I think he can do it for two reasons. First and foremost, the 49ers have plenty of torah offensive weapons to distract the defense.

Also, McCaffrey’s versatility allows him to be involved in any type of play the 49ers could call for the two-point attempt. McCaffrey has scored an octopus once in his career. He ran for a TD and ran for the two-point conversion in October 2019 when McCaffrey played for the Panthers.

Travis Kelce (-125)

On the Chiefs’ side, I think TE Travis Kelce is the best bet to score an octopus for Kansas City. The future Hall of Fame inductee has found the fountain of youth in the playoffs. Kelce has scored three TDs in the playoffs after having just five in the regular season.

In Super Bowl 54, Kelce had six catches on six targets for 43 yards and a touchdown against the 49ers. When these teams played last season, Kelce had six catches on eight targets for 98 yards, but he did not score a TD.

Kelce has extra motivation this time around since Tylor Swift could be in attendance. His size and ability to find space in defenses make him a matchup nightmare, too. If the Chiefs are desperate for points, then Kelce could be in line to score the first octopus of his illustrious career.

George Kittle (+160)

The other star TE in this matchup is San Francisco’s George Kittle. Football betting sites have Kittle listed at +160 to score a TD during the Super Bowl in Las Vegas.

Kittle had six TDs in the regular season and has scored once so far this postseason. He did not score a TD when these teams met in Super Bowl 54. However, Kittle did find the endzone when the 49ers faced the Chiefs last season.

His size and strength make Kittle a matchup problem for most defenses. Kittle’s physicality could make him a great target on a potential two-point conversion.

On the other hand, Kittle is a huge part of the 49ers’ run-blocking scheme. So, in goal line situations, he will likely be a blocker first and a receiver second. This could come in handy, though, in late-game play-action situations near the goal line.

Rashee Rice (+135)

One of the reasons the Chiefs were able to make it back to the Big Game this season is because of rookie WR Rashee Rice. The talented rookie had seven TDs in the regular season, but he has scored just once so far in the playoffs.

Rice has been a reliable target in the playoffs, though. He has 20 catches so far on 25 targets, so he will likely be a big part of the Chiefs’ game plan in Super Bowl 58.

BetUS has Rice listed at +135 to score a TD in the Super Bowl. He has the best odds of any Chiefs’ wide receiver and the third-best odds for any Chiefs player. I think he is a good bet to score, but I doubt he will score an octopus against the 49ers.

On the bright side, you do not need to pick a specific player for this prop wager to hit. Rice is not typically the go-to option at the goal line, but that could leave him open when the time comes.

Deebo Samuel (+130)

The 49ers’ top WR option is star wideout Deebo Samuel. Samuel missed most of the 49ers’ divisional game against the Packers, and the offense struggled as a result. He has 12 total TDs in the regular season, including five rushing TDs.

Sports betting sites have Deebo listed at +130 to score a TD in the Super Bowl. He has three TDs in his playoff career, but Samuel has not scored yet this postseason. Deebo also has never scored an octopus in his career.

Samuel is a threat on the ground as well as through the air, so he is a threat to score from anywhere on the field. If he does score a TD and the 49ers need to go for two, he would be a good bet to get the illusive NFL octopus.

Isiah Pacheco (-130)

Speaking of powerful runners, Chiefs’ RB Isiah Pacheco is listed at -130 to score a TD in the Super Bowl. Pacheco had nine total TDs in the regular season. He has also scored in all three of Kansas City’s playoff games so far this season.

Pacheco has also scored in seven straight games, and he has been a huge part of the Chiefs offense over the last couple of months. The second-year RB should be in line for another big day against a relatively weak 49ers’ run defense.

Other than Kelce, Pacheco could be the best bet to score an octopus in the Super Bowl for the Chiefs. He has the power to get the hard two yards needed to convert. Pacheco also has good hands and could catch a conversion attempt out of the backfield.

Best Bet to Score an Octopus in Super Bowl 58

You do not need to bet on a specific player to score the octopus in order to cash in on this bet. If I did have to pick one play to pull off this feat, I would stick with McCaffrey. He is the only star player in this game to score an octopus in his career, and he is a TD machine.

Will You Make an Octopus Super Bowl Bet?

There are tons of offensive stars taking the field in Super Bowl 58. This big game rematch between the Chiefs and the 49ers is full of exciting betting options.

One of the best ways to wager on this game is by making an octopus Super Bowl bet. BetUS Sportsbook as the odds of a player scoring a TD and the subsequent two-point conversion listed at +600. I think 49ers Rb Christian McCaffrey will pull off this feat, just like Eagles QB Jalen Hurts did last season.
