NFL NFC Championship Lions v 49ers

San Francisco is a heavy favorite at home this weekend in the latest NFL Conference Championship odds. The 49ers host the Detroit Lions for the right to represent the NFC in Super Bowl 58. There are great odds available for both teams, so you can join in on the fun regardless of who you are rooting for.

You can bet on the NFL playoffs from the comfort of your home using the top sportsbook sites. Betting online is easy, and you can access up-to-the-minute odds for this exciting matchup of two of the top NFC teams.

Keep reading to see the latest Lions vs. 49ers odds for this year’s NFC title game. I will break down the best bets for this matchup and tell you my betting predictions. The odds for these wagers were provided by Bovada Sportsbook,

Best Bets for Lions vs. 49ers

  • Point spread: 49ers (-7.0)
  • Moneyline: Lions (+270) vs. 49ers (-340)
  • Total: Over/under 51 points

NFL betting sites have the 49ers (-340) listed as a touchdown favorite this Sunday against the Lions (+270). The total is listed at over/under 51 points. I think San Francisco will get the win, but the Lions should be able to cover if they can keep Jared Goff upright.

David Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs Combine for 150+ Rushing Yards (+550)

The 49ers have looked unstoppable for most of the season. One of the few issues, other than injuries, that San Fran has run into is teams with strong rushing attacks. The Ravens, Packers, and others were able to use pin-and-pull running schemes to gash the 49ers’ defense this year.

I think Ben Johnson, the Lions’ Offensive Coordinator, will be able to exploit that weakness as well. The Lions have two talented RBs to lean on, Jahmyr Gibbs and David Montgomery, and a good offensive line. With the right game plan, both running backs could be in for a good day on Sunday.

You can bet on either RB individually and Bovada has Montgomery and Gibbs listed at over/under 45.5 and 47.5 rushing yards, respectively. Or you can both on their combined rushing total with this prop wager.

If Montgomery and Gibbs combine for at least 150 rushing yards, then you will be rewarded with +550 payout odds. San Fran allowed 136 total rushing yards last week, with Aaron Jones racking up 108 yards on the ground. I think Gibbs and Montgomery combined can get to the 150-yard mark, and I would take this wager.

Prediction:

David Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs combine for 150+ rushing yards (+550)

Christian McCaffrey 2+ TDs and SF Wins (+193)

Speaking of talented RBs, the 49ers have arguably the best RB in the NFL right now. Christian McCaffrey racked up over 2,000 scrimmage yards this season for the second time in his career.

He also finished the regular season with 21 total TDs and added another pair of TDs last week against Green Bay. McCaffrey has at least two total TDs in six games this season.

Sports betting sites have McCaffrey listed at +150 in the current 49ers odds to have at least two TDs this weekend. I think he will score twice, but there are better ways to bet on McCaffrey’s performance. For instance, if you bet on CMC to have at least two TDs and for the 49ers to win, you can get +193 payout odds instead.

A lot of people are rooting for the Lions, but there is a reason why the 49ers are heavy favorites at home. I think San Fran will win, so I would feel confident about making this playoff player double wager.

Prediction:

Christian McCaffrey 2+ TDs and SF Wins (+193)

Sam LaPorta Anytime TD Scorer (+185)

Another TD prop that I recommend betting on for this game is for Lions TE Sam LaPorta to score. The rookie TE is listed at +185 in the latest Lions odds to score a TD this weekend. Despite playing through a knee injury, LaPorta has racked up 79 yards and a TD on 12 catches so far this postseason.

LaPorta did not find the endzone last week, but he did have nine receptions. I think he will get several targets in the red zone this weekend.

There is no guarantee that he will score, but LaPorta does have the fourth-best odds of any Lions player to score. At +185, LaPorta offers much better payout odds than other stars of the game. For instance, McCaffrey is listed at -305 in similar anytime TD scorer betting markets.

Brock Purdy 300+ Passing Yards and 2+ Passing TDs (+183)

Ultimately, the 49ers’ Super Bowl hopes will largely rest on the shoulders of second-year QB Brock Purdy. Regardless of what you think of his talent, the stars that surround Purdy allow him to rack up impressive numbers. He had 4,280 passing yards and 31 passing TDs in 16 starts this season.

Purdy only had 252 passing yards and one passing TD in a rainy game last week. I believe he will have a better game this week against a Lions’ defense that let up 349 passing yards last week to Baker Mayfield. Matthew Stafford threw for 367 yards against Detroit in the Wild Card Round.

You can bet on Purdy to hit the 300-passing-yard mark and have at least two passing TDs at +183 payout odds. Purdy has nine games this season with at least two passing TDs. The Lions have allowed five passing TDs so far in the playoffs, and I think Purdy can get at least two this weekend.

Purdy also has five games this season with at least 300 passing yards. The 49ers have plenty of weapons for Purdy to throw to, especially if WR Deebo Samuel can play this weekend. I think Purdy can play well enough to hit both parts of this playoff player performance double.

Prediction:

Brock Purdy 300+ Passing Yards and 2+ Passing TDs (+183)

Jared Goff and Amon-Ra St. Brown Same-Game Parlay

Rounding out my list of the best Lions vs. 49ers odds for this weekend’s game is a three-legged same-game parlay for Jard Goff and Amon-Ra St. Brown. Bovada allows you to bet on both Lions’ stars with one convenient bet.

For this three-legged parlay, you need Jared Goff to have at least 265 passing Yards. St. Brown also needs at least eight receptions and 85 receiving yards. Here are the odds available for these three bets if you placed them individually.

  • Jared Goff has 265+ passing yards (+108)
  • Amon-Ra St. Brown has 8+ receptions (-104)
  • Amon-Ra St. Brown has 85+ receiving yards (-115)

If you bet on all three of these wagers in this same-game parlay, then you can be rewarded with +312 payout odds. Goff is listed at over/under 258.5 total passing yards for this game. St. Brown is listed at over/under 84.5 total receiving yards and 7.5 receptions for this game.

Both players would have to hit the over on their three respective totals bets for this parlay to win. However, that is not as far-fetched as it may sound.

St. Brown has at least 90 receiving yards in 12 games this season. Goff has averaged over 269 passing yards per game this year, which would be enough to satisfy this bet. With those stats in mind, I would feel confident about placing at least a half-stakes wager on this parlay.

Prediction:

Jared Goff 265+ passing yards, St. Brown 8+ receptions and 85+ receiving yards (+312)
