The Best MNF Player Props for Week 9: Top Bets for Chargers-Jets
MNF player props are a great way to get in on the action as the Chargers square off with the Jets this week. LA is making the cross-country trip, but they are still favored by more than a field goal in this AFC matchup.
You can bet on football online using the latest player props for this game. Props offer more versatility than other betting options, and you can wager on players from both teams.
Keep reading to see the best Monday Night Football player props for Week 9. I will tell you my favorite bets for both teams and give you my predictions for each wager.
The Best MNF Player Props for Week 9
This week’s Monday Night Football matchup features two teams battling for an AFC Wild Card spot. The Chargers (3-4) travel from LA to NY to take on the Jets (4-3). Here are my favorite player props bets for this matchup, with odds courtesy of Bovada Sportsbook.
Chargers Player Props
The Chargers have underperformed this season, and HC Brandon Staley is officially on the hot seat. LA needs a win this week to get back to .500 for the first time since the season began. That means big performances from offensive stars Justin Herbert, Keenen Allen, and Austin Ekeler against a stout Jets’ defense.
Keenan Allen Anytime TD Scorer (+150)
If you play fantasy football, you know that WR Keenan Allen terrorized opposing defenses at the start of this season. He has cooled down lately, but the veteran WR still has 54 receptions for 643 yards so far this season. Allen also 4 TDs through seven games this year.
Last week’s win against the Bears was the first time this season that Allen did not average double-digit yards per reception this season. It also marked his second straight game without a TD reception.
Bovada has Allen listed at +150 to end his scoring drought this weekend. New York’s defense has been good this season, but they are not unbeatable. The Jets have given up 8 TD receptions this season, and I think Allen can score at least once on MNF.
Keenan Allen anytime TD scorer (+150)
Justin Herbert Under 251.5 Passing Yards (-115)
If the Chargers have any hope of getting the win on Monday, then they need QB Justin Herbert to be at the top of his game. The Jets’ defense has played well against other top QBs, including Patrick Mahomes and Jalen Hurts.

Herbert has struggled against strong defensive units this season. He had just 227 passing yards against Dallas in Week 6. He followed that performance up with just 259 passing yards against the Chiefs.
With that in mind, I would not be surprised if the Chargers struggle to move the ball through the air this week. That is why I recommend taking the under in Herbert’s total passing yards prop bet.
Bovada has Herbert listed at over/under 251.5 passing yards in this MNF player prop. Herbert has been held under that mark in three of the Chargers’ seven games this season. The Jets are also allowing the fourth-lowest yards per attempt this season.
Justin Herbert under 251.5 passing yards (-115)
Justin Herbert Over 0.5 INTs (Even Money)
Another Monday Night Football player prop I like for Herbert this week is his interception total. Bovada has Herbert listed at even money to throw over 0.5 interceptions this week.
Herbert started the year off with three straight games without a pick. However, in the four games since then he has 4 INTs. His struggles have mostly come late in games when the Chargers need a score.
New York’s defense also has 8 INTs through eight games this season. This game should be a close one, which means the pressure could be on Herbert late. I believe we will see Herbert throw at least one interception this week.
Justin Herbert over 0.5 INTs (even)
Austin Ekeler Over 80.5 Combined Rushing and Receiving Yards (-115)
The final spot on my list of the best MNF player props for the Chargers this week is this combined rushing total prop for Austin Ekeler. The talented RB missed three games this season, which was a big reason for LA’s slow start.

Ekeler topped 100 total yards for the first time since his injury last week. He finished with 123 combined rushing and receiving yards against the Bears.
New York’s defense is much better than Chicago’s. Bovada has Ekeler listed at over/under 80.5 combined rushing and receiving yards for this week’s contest. Ekeler has hit that mark in two of the four games he has played in, and I think he will do it again this week.
Herbert will likely be under pressure for most of the game. So, dump-off passes to Ekeler will be a big part of the game plan. Also, establishing the run with Ekeler early could help slow down the Jets pass rush.
Austin Ekeler over 80.5 combined rushing and receiving yards (-115)
Jets Player Props
The other side of this matchup is the 4-4 New York Jets. Despite being the home team, Bovada has the Jets listed as 3.5-point underdogs in the latest point spread odds. New York needs their defense to step up if they are going to get the upset over the Chargers.
Zach Wilson Over 1.5 Passing TDs (+185)
Zach Wilson has played surprisingly well this season. He is playing like a below-average QB, which is a huge step up from his first two years in the league. He is still not good enough to get the Jets where they want to go, but he should have an easier game this week against the Chargers.

Bovada has Wilson listed at +185 to have over 1.5 passing TDs this week. I believe he can get two scores through the air against a porous Chargers defense.
LA’s defense has been one of the worst passing defenses in the league this season. The Chargers have allowed opposing QBs to complete 68.2% of their passes. They have also given up 12 passing TDs in just seven games this season.
The Chargers are also bad at generating pressure. Even the Jets’ offensive line should be able to hold up against LA on Monday night.
Zach Wilson over 1.5 passing TDs (+185)
Zach Wilson Over 0.5 INTs (-150)
I do not think that Wilson will be perfect, though. That is why I also like this total interceptions prop. Wilson is listed at -150 to throw over 0.5 picks this week.
The Chargers defense has forced 6 INTs this season, which is about average in the league this year. Wilson has thrown 5 INTs this season, most of which came in Week 2. The Cowboys picked off Wilson three times in their matchup.
Cutting down on his turnovers has been a big reason why the Jets have turned their seasons round. But I do not think Wilson will be able to keep playing like this forever. The Chargers defense should be able to get at least one interception, so I would take the over in this bet.
Zach Wilson over 0.5 INTs (-150)
Breece Hall Over 56.5 Rushing Yards (-115)
The Jets also need their skill position players to step up if they want to get the win this week. That includes second-year RB Breece Hall.

Hall started the season on a snap count, and it showed. He only had double-digit touches twice in the first four weeks. Since then, Hall has had at least 12 rush attempts for the three straight games.
He has also caught 14 passes during that stretch. His best game camera against Denver, when he racked up 177 rushing yards on 22 attempts.
I do not think Hall will be that productive this week, but he should still be a big part of the game plan. He should be able to cover the over on this 56.5 rushing yards prop. Leaning on Hall will help the Jets control the clock and keep Herbert off the field.
Breece Hall over 56.5 rushing yards (-115)
Garrett Wilson Over 5.5 Receptions (+125)
Rounding out my list of the best MNF player props for this week is a total receptions bet for WR Garrett Wilson. Football betting sites have Wilson listed at +125 to catch over 5.5 passes this week.
Garrett is more dependent on Zach having a good game than Breece is. So, if the QB struggles, Garrett could be in for a long night.
Still, I think the Wilson-to-Wilson connection can lead to at least six completions this week. Wilson has been targeted at least seven times in all but one game this year. So, at the very least, he should have enough chances to hit the over for this bet.
Garrett Wilson Over 5.5 Receptions (+125)
